The IME(I) Mumbai Branch Technical Sub-Committee
organized a series of events starting from December 2021.
The first event was an online seminar held on 22nd December
2021, which was organized as an “Outcome of the MEPC 77
Session”.
The second event titled “Conclave on EEXI - Challenges and
way Forward” was jointly conducted with The Company of
Master Mariners India on a web platform on 4th February 2022.
The third event was held on 29th April 2022 at Banquet Hall -
MCA, Bandra - Kurla Complex, Bandra (E), Mumbai, and was
titled “The Rise of Methanol as Future Proof Marine Fuel.”
It was held in a hybrid mode, and it explored the potential of
methanol as a marine fuel.
The fourth event was a hybrid seminar on “Business Integrity
& Anti-Corruption - Imperatives & Way Forward in
the Maritime Industry - Role & Work of Maritime Anti-
Corruption Network (MACN)”, conducted on 17th June
2022. This event was well received by the shipping industry
and was successful.
The IME(I) Mumbai Branch Technical Sub-Committee was
actively engaged in preparations for the next event, INMARCO
2022, which was held from 17th to 19th November 2022.
This event provided a platform for students from MTIs across
the country to showcase their knowledge and skills through
Technical Paper presentation competition and Model making
competition.
The sixth event was organized by the Navi Mumbai Chapter
of IME(I), Mumbai Branch in association with DG Shipping.
It was a hybrid seminar held on 7th January 2023, titled “The
Outcome of MEPC 79” The objective of the event was to
discuss the outcome of the 79th session of the IMOs MEPC
79 that took place from 12th to 16th December 2022 at IMO,
London. The event was conducted at Maritime Training
Institute, Powai (SCI).

MERI MUMBAI successfully organised the Navacharitam 22
intra campus technical paper presentation competition on the
day of 22nd November 2022. The chief guests for the event,

Mr Rajesh Kasaragod, Hon. Treasurer IMEI Mumbai Branch
and Mr Kannan Kanamarlapudi, Energy Efficiency Manager,
