Option 1

"Jesus and Zacchaeus - Our conscience calls us to change" Luke 19:1-10

"He entered Jericho and was passing through it. A man was there named Zacchaeus; he
was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account
of the crowd he could not, because he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a
sycamore tree to see him, because he was going to pass that way. When Jesus came to the
place, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at
your house today." So he hurried down and was happy to welcome him. All who saw it
began to grumble and said, "He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner."
Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, "Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give
to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as
much." Then Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is
a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost."

Option 2

"Prayer leads and guides our lives" 1 Thessalonians 5:13-25

"Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, beloved, to admonish the idlers,
encourage the faint hearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them. 1See that none of
you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. Rejoice
always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but
test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.
May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and
body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who
calls you is faithful, and he will do this.
Beloved, pray for us."
Option 3

"The Holy Spirit comes to share the gifts of God with us" Acts 2:1-4
"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And
suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled
the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among
them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."

Option 4

"Jesus, through Scripture, brings God's mercy to us all" Luke 4:14-21

Then Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about
him spread through all the surrounding country. He began to teach in their synagogues
and was praised by everyone.
When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went to the
synagogue on the sabbath day, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll
of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place
where it was written: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to
bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and
recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the
Lord's favor."
And he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all
in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to say to them, "Today this scripture
has been fulfilled in your hearing."

Option 5

"We are called to be responsible citizens, seeking justice for all" 1 John 3:16-18
"We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives
for one another. How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees
a brother or sisterp in need and yet refuses help?
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action."
