the attendance)
5. Checking of the Last meeting I gave you an assignment.
Assignment Please pass it now and I will be the one (the students will pass
to check that later. their assignments)

10 mins. 6. Recall/Motivation Before we start to our new lesson, let us

have first a recall. Look at the graphic
organizer on the board. Overhead
projector,
What can you say about the graphic laptop
organizer? Yes nikka.

Ma’am Triangle is
divided into two
classifications,
according to sides and
according to angles.
According to sides
includes Isosceles,
Equilateral and Scalene
triangle. According
angles includes Acute,
Right and obtuse

It was fun and

interesting ma’am.

I observe ma’am that

more on triangles are
Very goodnikka! In connection with that the same shape.
we will having a game, do you want a
game class?
I will group you into 2. I can say ma’am about
the pictures which is
This game is called “puzzle game ” the building and bridge
is contains triangles.
Instructions of the game.
1. Select 6 representatives in your
group. I think ma’am about

the one who complete the
puzzle.

the puzzle are the winner. they are congruent.

Ok, are you ready class?

Let the game begin.

(After the game)

How was the game class? Yes Neric.

Ok that’s right, so what do you observe

in our game? Yes Meryl.

Very good! Observation, what else?

What can you say about the illustration
or the pictures on the board? Yes April
lyn.
Excellent! In connection with that what
do you think is our topic for today? Yes
jomari.

Very good! What else? Yes Arman.

How did you say so?

3 mins. B. Lesson Proper Brilliant! You can now define what

1. Presentation of the congruent triangles are. In connection
lesson. of this, our topic for today is about
CONGRUENT TRIANGLES. Let us see how
we can verify if two triangles are
congruent using fewer pairs of
congruent corresponding parts. And also
to further realize its great role in the
stability of structures like buildings and
bridges. Thus, you are challenge to
achieve the following learning
outcomes, who can read?

OBJECTIVES
2. Presentation of At the end of the
Objectives lesson, the students
are expected to:

a. Define congruent
triangles,
b. Construct congruent
triangle, and
c. Cite the significant
application of
Thank you. congruent triangles in
constructing of
buildings and bridges.
10 mins C. Activity
a. Pre- activity To attain our objectives, let’s have first
an activity.

I will group you into 3. Each group will

assign leader, secretary and presenter of
your output. Each group will be
provided an activity sheets. Activity
sheets contains task that can be done by
creating and measuring congruent
triangles. I will give 10 minutes to do
your activity and after 10 minutes the
group presenter will present their group
output and each group will be graded
with the following rubrics. Kindly read
jean.
(SEE THE ATTACHED PAPER) (the student will read
the rubric)
Thank you jean!

Is there any question class?

No ma’am
Okay here are your materials. You have
10 minutes to do that. Your time starts
now.

b. Activity proper (SEE THE ATTACHED PAPER) Activity

sheet

c.Post activity Ok! Time is up! Post all your activity. (the student will
Please present your output. present their output)

Good job everyone.

5 mins. 4.Analysis and How did you find you activity class?
Abstraction Yes Vanessa. Its interesting ma’am I
learned from the
activity on how to
identify the congruent
triangles.
Very good what did you do to find if
triangles are congruent? Yes Bryan? By measuring the
angles and side ma’am
using protractor and
ruler.
Excellent! For the group 1 what do think
is the corresponding parts that you have
in your activity to find that two triangles The corresponding part
you create are congruent? that we have is
corresponding side
ma’am.

Very good! what did you do to find the

triangles that you create with First we measure the
corresponding side are congruent? length of three sides of
triangle and after that
we alsomeasure the
angles of two triangles
to find the two
triangles are congruent
or the measure.
Fabulous! To find that two triangles are
congruent we have the Corresponding
parts first is that Corresponding side.
(See the Presentation)
Ok for the group 2, what corresponding
parts that you have to find the two
triangles that you create are congruent. The corresponding
parts we have is
corresponding angles
That’s right! How do you found out that ma’am.
if you havecorresponding angles the
triangles are congruent?
We found out that the
two triangles we create
with corresponding
angles are congruent
because if we measure
the three side of one
triangle also the
measure of another
triangle is the same.
Excellent! So the second Corresponding
parts are Corresponding Angles.
(seethe presentation)

For the Group 3 what corresponding

parts you have to know that the
triangles you create are congruent? None ma’am. But we
use the two
corresponding parts by
measuring the side and
angles to prove that
two triangles are
congruent.
Very good group 3! Since in your activity
sheet you don’t have the measure the
side or angles only the number of
popsicle stick in every side is given you
measure the side and also the angles.
I make myself clear? Yes ma’am.

So can now who can define Congruent

triangles?
Yes nikka? Congruent triangles are
when all corresponding
sides and angles are
congruent.
Excellent nikka! We can use the
acronym “CPCTC” to define the
Congruent triangles.
5 mins. 6.Generalization In order to retain the knowledge that
you had learned today, please answer
the following.

These two right triangles are congruent.

-Names 3 pairs of corresponding angles
- Names 3 pairs of corresponding sides
.

Corresponding Angles

Corresponding Sides

5 mins. 7.Application Now let’s go back to the two pictures in

our game a while ago. Now
What do you think is the importance of
bridges in economic progress?
Bridges are important
to economic progress
since it is used for
transportation. If there
is a strong foundation
of bridges, there will be
having no problem in
Excellent! Since we are surrounded by business transactions.
the bodies of water, the bridges are
used to connect the two places or two
areas in the country like for example the
well known San Juanico bridge at
Antipolo Cit y. It connects the Samar
province and Leyte.

And I have here pictures of modern

bridges. (see the presentation)

How about the buildings?

So now what did you realized about our

topic for today? Is triangle congruence Yes ma’am because
important? Triangles congruence is
used to give stability
and to reinforce
strength in materials
used to construct
structures like bridges.

Now get 1 whole sheet of paper.
