political ideologies, power, states, nations, and globalization. Also, the historical background of Philippine
democratic politics, the executive, the legislative, the judiciary, and decentralization and local governance. The
learners demonstrate an understanding of elections and political parties and civil society and social movements
and citizenship as well as integration
Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to clearly identify a specific political phenomenon and how it
can be studied. They shall be able to explain the roles of different political institutions; analyze the interactions
between state and society; propose a project on political engagement and youth empowerment.
