DAILY ACTIVITIES

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you should be able to:


 Ask about somebody’s daily activities;
 Describe his/her or other people’s daily activities;
 Use adverbs of frequency.

Dialogue 1

Marry : “What time do you go to bed, James?”


James : “I go to bed at 10.00.”
Marry : “And before that, what do you do?”
James : “I watch TV or do my homework.”
Marry : “Do you always do your homework at night.”
James : “Not always. Sometimes I do my homework in the afternoon. It
depends on how much homework I’ve got.”
Marry : “ That’s true.”

Dialogue 2

Robert : “Do you usually go to work by car, Jane?”


Jane : “Yes I do, except when my car is broken. So I go to work by public
transport.”
Robert : “Do you like that?”
Jane : “Not rally, because it’s not economical and it takes a lot of time, too.”
Robert : “How about if I take you to work?”
Jane : “I’d love to, but would it trouble for you?”
Robert : “No, not at all, because I always drive past your house on my way to
the office.”

REMEMBER

To ask about somebody’s daily activities, you say:

 What do you do in the afternoon?


in the morning?
in the evening?
at noon?
at 10.00?

To answer those questions, yo say:

 In the afternoon, I do my home-work.


morning, I go to school.
evening, I watch TV.
At noon, I have lunch.
At 10.00, I study at school.

To ask about the time of somebody’s particular actiivity, you say:


 What time do you go to bed?

To answer those questions, you say:

 I go to bed at 10.00

in the evening

To use adverbs of frequency in a question:
