Daily Schedule of Assignments: WGS 101, Section 02, Spring 2023

The Daily Syllabus (below) is subject to change: it may alter or evolve at any point. If I revise
our pace, please know that I will almost always be doing so in the interest of your being able to
do your best work! I will announce any changes to the Daily Syllabus in class and on BB under
Announcements. You are responsible for any changes even if you are absent: check Blackboard
and your email every day!

NOTES:

I expect you to bring your laptops and the textbook to class every day.
Without these, you cannot do the class work for that day, so you have chosen to be absent.

Your laptops must be used for writing and taking notes on our class discussions or the textbook
articles only, unless I specify otherwise.

Almost all readings are from Gendered Voices, Feminist Visions, 8th edition. If your book
hasn’t arrived in the first couple of weeks, you’ll find Chapter 1 and the assigned readings in it
on BB in our “Course Materials” folder.

Cell phones may not be used in class, and they may not be on your desk. Please bury them deeply
in your backpack or purse so you are not tempted.

--We’ll divide each chapter introduction into two parts, so that the first half
is usually due on a Monday and the second half is usually due the following
Wednesday.

--We’ll spend two weeks on each chapter (in most cases).

--After the first month or two, you’ll give presentations in groups of 2 or 3 on an article
from our textbook, a TED talk, or a YouTube. (The details about these
presentations are on BB and we will discuss them.)
These presentations will serve as the course final.
