II. Institutional Mandate and Philosophy and Goals of the Proposed Program

A. Institutional Mandate and Philosophy

Our institution, being a seminary-college, is governed by the Franciscan

charism and values. More specifically, our institutional mandate and philosophy
is embodied in our vision, mission and goals which we were reviewed and
approved by the Board of Trustees in 2022

Our Vision reads: “A Christ-Centered Filipino Catholic Franciscan

Community molded by the Gospel values”.

Our Mission: “Commits to facilitate opportunities for the learner to a Christ-

centered, culture-based, and integral education that promotes quality of life,
common good towards a renewed society, and reverence to all creation.”

As educational and formation institution, we have the following objectives:

1. Provides an avenue for the experience of God;

2. Allows everyone to lead communal and simple lifestyles;
3. Deepens mindfulness and responsiveness to the plight of the
underprivileged;
4. Implements concrete programs for the care and integrity of creation;
5. Creates activities for cultural appreciation;
6. Inspires innovation and engagement in transformational leadership.

B. Goals of the Proposed Program

The proposed program has the following goals:

1. It shall provide students knowledge of different areas in Tourism and

Hospitality Management. And prepare them to become qualified person
for different excellent related fields.
2. It shall facilitate in refining a range of transferrable skills, from effective
communication to critical thinking. And
3. It shall help in providing ethical services, research and study related to
Tourism and Hospitality Management
III. Management Viability

We are confident that our institution has a capable, effective and committed
management body. The current compositions of the seminary-college administration
have achieved the required qualifications. We have demonstrated also our capacity to
manage well as evidenced by the excellent performances of the duties and
responsibilities mandated to us during our previous terms.

We provide the organizational chart (Appendix A) to have an overview of the

management viability aspect of our institution.

IV. Market viability

Our seminary-college has around 100 students at the moment. We can say that
our student population has grown in the past two years particularly pandemic times.
Before the end of academic 2021-2022, we conducted consultations nearby the
seminary. Youth in Rockville and seminary road would opt to take the BS Tourism
Management / BS Hospitality Management as their degree if the institution would offer it
by next year. It that would be happened, Our Lady of the Angels Seminary-College will
be the second institution along Quirino highway, barangay San Bartolome and barangay
Bagbag that could offer BS Tourism Management / BS Hospitality Management. The
nearest institution of the above mentioned barangays that offer the program of BS
Tourism Management / BS Hospitality Management is STI San Bartolome.

Fellow administrators of colleges in the vicinity do not offer at the moment the BS
Tourism Management / BS Hospitality Management. And so, it appears that, at the
moment, there would be no stiff competition for incoming students for the course if ever
we offer it as one of our program.

We are also encouraged to have the said course due to the influx of our Asian
counterparts in the Philippines. Our Franciscan entities and network in Asia, most
especially from Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Myanmar, Korea, and Thailand
are now opting to take English and Psychology Degree as part of their formation years
in the Philippines. Our Lady of the Angels Seminary-College also caters different
Franciscan entities in the Philippines such as Franciscans of the Poor, Franciscans of
the Holy Spirit, Franciscan order of our Lady of the Poor and other congregations. They
will take this course in this seminary-college once offered such program.

V. Financial Viability

Attachment B. provides details of the income projection in 5 years. We are

confident that every year after the first implementation of the program, we can achieve a
10% increase on the number of students. And based on our current operational
experiences of running our programs, we can have at least 10% to 20% net income
every academic year.

VI. Other operational Aspects

Our Lady of the Angels Seminary-College is situated in a 5 hectare property in

Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City. The surrounding communities are three
middle class-upper middle class subdivisions. As far as our experience is concerned,
we find the place a conducive space for study. In fact, the seminary, often times,
becomes a refuge of many urban dwellers seeking a quiet place to rest and have
retreat.

Its distance from the quirino Highway approximately 1.5 kilometers. This distance
is sufficient not to be disturbed from heavy traffic in Quirino Highway as we conduct
classes. Moreover, the distance is convenient for our students to take a walk form the
highway and back.

The seminary, we can say, is free of other possible sources of class

interruptions, or disturbances. It is, likewise, an accessible institution to many of our
prospective students within the area.
