MEASUREMENTS: 63” (160 cm) wide x 15 3/4” (40 cm) long INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 63 sts. Work in lace st following graph A except for the 4 sts
MATERIALS at each edge which are worked in garter st.
AIR LUX: 2 balls col. 72 When shawl measures 63” (160 cm), loosely bind (cast off) all sts.

Knitting needles Stitches FINISHING (MAKING UP)


Size 10 ¾ (U.S.)/(7 mm) Garter st (see basic instructions) Fold the shawl in half, baste around the edges and block (press)
Lace st (see graph A) with maximum steam.
Fringe (see basic instructions) Fringe: cut 264 strands of yarn each 13 3/4” (35 cm) long.
Attach 66 fringes, each one made up of 4 strands of yarn, evenly
GAUGE spaced along one side of the shawl.
The measurements are taken after blocking (pressing) the sample Block (press) the fringes.
