Step to install and configure VPN.

1. Go to https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads#vpn and click Windows to


download the online installer.

2. Once download complete, double click and execute the exe to start the installer, the
installer will start downloading the required package and you might need to wait for the
installer to start.

3. Once downloading packages is completed, tick “Yes, I have read and accept the” and click
“Next”.

4. Click “Next” on below page.


5. Click “Install” to start the installation.
6. Once installation complete, click “Finish” on page below.

7. A new icon should appear in your system tray like below, the application should also execute
automatically as your windows start, double click the icon to open the VPN application.

8. However, if the application does not start, you can also double click the shortcut to open the
VPN application create from the installer.
9. The page below will prompt as you open the VPN application, as first time setup, you will
need to configure the VPN application before using, tick the empty box and click “I accept”.

10. Click “Configure VPN” in below page.


11. In page below, make sure “SSL-VPN” is highlighted in blue in “VPN” field, “Connection
Name”, “Remote Gateway” field as below, tick “Customize port” and insert “20443” beside
it, tick “Save login” and insert your username in “Username” field and click “Save”.

12. Key in your password for the first time setup and the password should be saved and
remembered so that you do not need to key in again, as you have tick “Save login” in
previous step, and click connect so that the password is saved.
13. If below prompt at any future time, click “Yes”.

14. Once below page shown and prompt, it means you have connected successfully, If you do
not wish to continue the VPN, you can click “Disconnect” to log out from the VPN
connection.
15. You can also right click the VPN system tray icon that appeared after you installed the
application and click “Disconnect “VED-Engineers-VPN” to log out.

16. If after the first time setup did not save your password correctly, you can still key in your
password and tick “Save Password” and click “Connect” to re-save your password again.
