Software Developer Intern

looking for software developers interested in learning how to build innovative products that scale to tens of
millions of pageviews a day. You will spend your summer with other computer science and engineering
interns from top schools. You will work on a small product team with a mentor and other engineers,
learning new technologies, innovating, and shipping code to production.

Description

At Indeed, our mission is to build software that helps people get jobs. We’ve built a fast, efficient, and
reliable platform that handles 5+ billion job search queries every month. We provide the simplest job
search with the most complete results, the easiest way to manage your resume and apply to jobs, and a
powerful mobile app that handles over 50% of our traffic. As we continue building more great products,
we are looking for ideas from every field of computer science to keep pushing us forward. This includes
user interface design, machine learning, big data, distributed computing, natural language processing,
information retrieval, and other technologies.

Your Job

Software developer internship at Indeed lasts 10-12 weeks, during which you will work with a mentor to
apply foundational computer science knowledge and principles to solve real-world engineering
challenges. These projects are not just challenging, they are critical to our business and impact millions
of job seekers around the world. You will work on a small team with other engineers building innovative
products using a variety of back-end and front-end technologies. You will also have the opportunity to
share your experiences with other interns from top computer science and engineering programs in India,
Hyderabad. Our hope is that you will also have fun collaborating together on smaller scope projects and
build a few friendships along the way.

Our engineers work together on small teams to design, develop, test, and launch products. As part of a
collaborative team from engineering and product management in Hyderabad, you will work on areas such
as job applies, SEM, business automation and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

● Conceive of and implement new features and ranking changes to improve Job Apply
experience, business automation
● Continually improve/enhance apply quality and business effectiveness
● Dive deep into our job apply data and employee history data to understand different functional
areas, and then use your creativity to come up with extraction and classification techniques
that improve the quality of Indeed's job apply and business automation process

You will get the opportunity to dig into massive datasets available at Indeed to analyze, inform, and
develop solutions. We are addicted to data; we use it to make product and architectural decisions, as well
as improve the results generated by our ranking and recommendation algorithms. Your objective will be to
find simple, fast, resilient, and scalable solutions using back-end and front-end technologies that are best
suited for the job. This includes open source, as we embrace open source technologies and contribute
some of our core software back to the community.

Requirements:
● Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field. ●
Enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to it after the internship. ● Experience
with one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Javascript, C, C++. ● Excellent
knowledge and understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Stipend: INR 75,000 per month
