Sid yawned, stretched and sat straight with a snort. He stared at
Tom. Tom moaned and groaned in pain and tried to gain sympathy
from Sid. Sid was worried and asked why he did not wake him up
earlier. He was feeling pity for Tom, seeing him cry in pain.
2. What did Tom say to Sid as his last wish?
Tom said that he was ready to forgive Sid for everything he has done.
He also instructed Sid to give his sash and his cat to the new girl in
the town as he would die very soon. This was his last wish.
3. Why did Tom dramatize the episode?
Tom was dramatizing the show as his only intention was to escape
school.
Sid snatched his clothes and ran fast to inform Aunt Polly about
Tom’s miserable condition. Sid panicked and told Aunt Polly that
Tom was about to die in pain. Hearing this, Aunty Polly ran upstairs
with Sid and Mary by her side. She was genuinely worried and asked
Tom about the matter. Tom complained about his sore toe . Aunt
Polly laughed at Tom and understood his intention. Tom groaned in
pain for his tooth and said that it was hanging loose. The scene ends
