Lead Stories reached out to the Rockefeller Archive Center on June 8, 2021, for confirmation that the creed featured in the Facebook post was not a part of Rockefeller's personal or professional records and to verify whether Rockefeller was even a participant in Freemasonry. detailed Rockefeller's personal beliefs, business concerns and philanthropic contributions. In the archive center's biography of Rockefeller, it noted: In addition to creating several corporate philanthropies, JDR continued to make personal donations to the following: theological schools; the Palisades Interstate Park Commission; victims of the 1906 San
Francisco earthquake; the Anti-Saloon League; Baptist missionary organizations; various YMCAs and YWCAs; parks in Cleveland; and colleges and universities, including Brown, Bryn Mawr, Columbia, Harvard, Spelman, Vassar, Wellesley, and Yale. A video shared to Facebook claims that the Rockefeller family wrote a “secret covenant” that proves the public is being controlled by an elite class through secretive methods such as poison. has 1.7 million views on TikTok, says: “This is their [the Rockefellers’] secret covenant and their clause of things that they want it to follow [sic].” But there is no evidence that this secret plot is genuine or that the text is in any way connected to the Rockefellers—a prominent American family known for business and philanthropy. Many other posts,
including one Full Fact checked recently, also quote versions of this “covenant” and specify John D. Rockefeller as its author. However, there is no evidence to suggest that these incidents are connected or
relate to a wider plan to deliberately harm the public with poison. We have previously written a fact check about a false claim that water in Greater Manchester was being poisoned. The “covenant” also says poisons will be administered through “their skin and mouths”. Food, clothes and beauty products all go through rigorous safety assessments
before becoming available in the UK, and there is again no evidence of an overarching plot to poison the public using these items. Is there any link to the Rockefeller family? There is no evidence to suggest this “secret covenant” was written by the Rockefeller family, who have become the subject of many conspiracy theories we’ve written about

The Rockefeller family are frequent subjects of conspiracy theories, which we have written

While it does not name the conspiracy theories directly, the text appears to allude to conspiratorial claims such as chemtrails—an incorrect belief (which we have written about many times before) that chemicals are being released deliberately from aircraft in order to either poison or control the population in some
way, or control the weather. The “covenant” also refers to “poisons” hidden in food, drink, clothing and beauty products.
