Lion S.C. Pathak joined Lions Club of Parel in the year 2017. He very regularly and en-
thusiastically participates in all the meetings and club service activities therefore
within a very short period he is unanimously elected to an important post of club
secretary for the year 2018-19 due to his efficient working he has been unanimously
elected for the second time as Club Secretary for the year 2019-20.
He was born on 15th January 1956 in U.P. He graduated in science stream completed
post- graduation and graduation in History and law respectively from a reputed Agra
College. He is also a qualified Company Secretary for small company.
Since childhood he took keen interest in games. He was Captain of Agra College Basket Ball team and also
represented Agra University in inter-University north Zone tournament.
He got married in the year 1987 and has two children one daughter and one son. His daughter is married
and serving in Bengaluru. His son is staying with him and serving in Insurance sector. In 1982 he joined
Commercial Department of Central Railway. He had a privilege of serving in various capacities. After
glorious service of thirty-four years he superannuated in Jan 2016 as Senior Commercial Manager. He is
settled in Thane and now very actively involved in serving community through Lionism.
Lion R.B. Jadhav joined Lions Club of Parel in the year 2016. He was motivated
and introduced by Lion U.C. Gupta.
Lion Jadhav was born on 21st March 1943 at Bhusawal. Upto S.S.C. he studied
in Bhusawal, then he went to College of J.K. Somaiya. After one year he joined
Government Polytechnic Pune in the meantime within one year he got a call for
Railway Apprenticeship so on 27th August 1963 he joined Railways. After
successful career of about 40 years in Railways he retired on 31st march 2003 as
Senior Section Engineer.
Lion Jadhav from the beginning attends and actively participates in all our club meetings, service
activities, training programmes and District events.
Lion R.B. Jadhav was unanimously elected as Treasurer of Lions Club of Parel in 2018-19 due to his
efficiency and sincerity he has been once again unanimously elected as Treasurer. He meticulously
presents up to date Administration and Charity accounts in all the Board cum Regular Meetings. He also
ensures timely payment of all the District dues, International dues and other dues.
Lion R.B. Jadhav due to his sincerity, punctuality, hard work and full dedication is a valuable asset to
Lions Club of Parel.
Lioness Mrs. Sarita A. Mulgund is graduate of Pune University and is B.A, B.Ed. She has been in
teaching line for about 15 years. She was running a Baby Crutch at Dadar for about 15 years.
She was awarded a best Candidate at Srinageri Math at Srinagery in Karnataka 3 years back for
reciting Adhyas Of Shrimat Bhagwat Gita.
Presently She is a regular visitor to Gita training classes at Dadar and Girgaon.She has acted in
some Marathi feature films, Dramas and T.V.serials she also attended vocal musical competitions.
She is blessed with two daughters and a son who is in USA. She joined Lionism in 2019 and she has been taking keen
interest in social activities such as distribution of clothes utensils etc to cancer patients Parel and hunger project at
Balikashram at Dadar.
Lion R.B. Dixit has joined Lions club of Bombay Parel, in July 2018. He has shown tremendous interest
in all club activities since his joining.He is a science graduate and PG in social science from
Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. Professionally, Lion Dixit belongs Indian Railway Traffic Service and
retired as Dy.Chief Commercial Manager, C.Rly. Mumbai in September 2016 after more than 36 years
of meticulous service in different positions.
Currently he is Director in Paramone Group.
He is deeply involved in a social cause by helping cancer patients in various ways within his capacity. He has two son,
both are married .Elder one is Senior purchase Manager in Leading Co. in Mumbai., His wife is leading Interior designer
running a company by name'.Hompassi on". They have one daughter.
His younger son is working as VP in Citi Bank and his wife is Associate Consultant in TCS having one son.
His sons are also involved in social causes as regular blood donor and with 'Akshay Patra'. Mr Dixit respects family
values and lives with his lovely home maker wife, sons, daughter in laws, and grandchildren under a roof at LBS Road
Kanjurmarg (west) as a perfect family.
He is proprietor of CA firm A.P. Mulgund& Co having office at Sir P.M. Road Mumbai 400001.
He has joined Lionism in 1979 and has been Treasure and President of Lions Club of Parel in
1996-97.
He looks offer Lions club Accounts, Audit, Income Tax and filing of Charity Commissioners
Annual Returns. He is blessed with 2 daughters and a Son .His Daughters are in the field of T. V, Drama, and
acting in features flims. His son AdwaitMulgund is Assissant Vice president with Nuomee a Japanese
International Consulting Firm.
Lion A.P. Mulgund is one of the senior most member and a strong pillar of our club. We get lot of support and
valuable guidance from him. He looks after all the important financial matters of our club like filing of Income
Tax returns, auditing of Administration Accounts Charity Accounts and submission of the same to Charity
Commissioner and Income tax Department in time. He attends all the club meetings, service activities, district
events quite regularly in spite of his advance age. He is a valuable asset to Lions Club ofParel
In the year 2008 Lion V.K. Pradhan joined Lions Club of Parel, It was Lion
Ashok Shandilya who motivated and convinced him to join this vibrant club.
Lion Pradhan by profession is Mechanical & Electrical Engineer who joined
Central Railway Locomotive Workshop in the year 1971. He worked for
more than 38 years there in various capacities and honourably retired as
Senior Section Engineer in 209.

Central Railway Hospital Byculla. Free health Check-up camp at Bal Dandawate Hall Lower Parel.
Massive Tree Plantation and Environment Awareness Programme at Sukh Shanti Home for Women

Lion Pradhan has received a number of Appreciation Certificates and Awards for his contribution of
serving needy and under privileged section of society. He is an active member and valuable asset of
Lions club ofParel.
Lion Pradhan is blessed with two sons, elder one Abhishek who has done his Printing Technology
from Sir JJ School of arts and now owns a printing set up at Lower Parel, Abhishek is married to
Akshada who is working as a Lecturer in Vani Vidyalaya Junior College Mulund. He has a cute and
loving grandson Aryan who is studying in grade 6. His grandson Aryan is very dear to Lion Pradhan
with whom he shares very special bond of love and affection who is maximum source of happiness.
His younger son Amey has completed his Masters in Printed Electronics from Chemnitz University,
Germany in addition to that after the masters he did a MBA from Gottingen University, Germany and
now is working in BASF chemical speciality division as Senior Executive in Sales Process System.
Amey is currently enjoying his bachelorhood
After retirement he is active member of Mumbai customs retired officials association. He was secretary of the
association from 2013 to 2015. The association is working to redress the various grievances of members by taking up
their cases with various Government authorities. There are a number of Vigilance cases pending against some custom
officials for a long time due to which they are monetarily suffering very badly because their cases are not getting closed.
Lion Salve forcefully raised this issue in Annual General Body Meeting of Bharat Pension Samaj which is a recognized
association of Retired Government Servants. Now their cases are likely to be solved expeditiously.
Lion S.N. Salve is very active member of Lions Club of Parel. He very regularly and enthusiastically participates in all the
meetings, service activities and District functions. He is also a good singer and very often entertains us with lovely old
songs. Lion S. N. Salve is a valuable asset to Lions Club of Parel.
Lion M.K.Kashyap has joined Lionism in the year 1990. Since last 29 years, he has
acquired various positions at the club level as well as District level. He has been President
of this club in the years 1997-98, 2001-02 and created a hat trick by continuing as
President for 3 years continuously right from 2015 to 2018. He has also served the
community in various capacities in the Lions District as Zone Chairman, District Chairman
Government Employees Welfare, Aids Awareness, Consumer Awareness, street children
welfare and Diabetes Awareness etc. Being one of the Trustees of the club, he has always
been a guiding Lion for the social and charitable activities of the club. As a Zone chairman,
he has given a memorable Zone Social on a floating boat in sea waters near Gate way of
India. He has been honoured with various medals and awards at District and International
level. He has twice earned the award of outstanding Club President from the District.
He is married to his lovely wife Lion Lady Rani. The couple is blessed with a son and a daughter. His son is a Software
consultant in U.K. while daughter is married to a business family in Mumbai. Despite having a comfortable and safe zone
of his Government service, he preferred to join Lionism at the age of 37 years as he wanted to serve the downtrodden
segment of society through Lionism. He has been very popular in the Lions of District as well as District Governers of
previous years. He has used his good offices to legally facilitate various District Governers on their arrival from
International Conference at Airport and to provide a rosy welcome to them. He has done some Lions projects at Air Cargo
Complex and in Mumbai Docks for the benefit of Airport and Dock workers as these areas have remained untouched by
normal Lions activists. He has created the website of Lions of Parel in 2018 during his tenure of Presidentship. Last year
as coordinator LCIF, he has motivated 6 Lions to join fellowship of Contributory Melvin Jones Fellowship. The Club has
got various awards in the form of international patches as a token of successful completion of club activities in the
focused areas set by Lions International.
.Apart from being a humble and smiling personality, he is friendly to all lions and is an asset to this fine
and comfortable benches were donated to Dr. B.A.M. Hospital Central Railway Bhyculla, Mumbai-
400027. These benches are kept in a newly made room for convenience and comfort of Retired Railway
Employee daily visiting the Hospital for treatment in large numbers. Inauguration of this (RELHS) room
was done on 26th January 2019 by General Manager Central Railway in presence of CMD, MD, DRM
and many other dignitaries of Central Railway. On all the above items donated, name plates are fixed
with prominently displaying LIONS Logo which will enhance image of Lions Club. All these are legacy
project of Lions Club of Parel.For more than fifteen years he was a part of District Administration as
District Chairman Railway Betterment. In the year 2015-16 he was Zone Chairperson. Practically every
year he gets recognition, appreciations and awards from ruling District Governors. He is also a recipient
of Medal from highest authority in Lionism Lion Ashok Mehta International President for excellent work
done in humanitarian Service

Lion T.C.S. Pillai joined Lionism in 2004-2005. Held various positions at Club Level. He was
awarded 'Everyday Hero' honoured by District Cabinet in 2005-2006 and also in 2008-2009 and
Lions Club of Mumbai, Parel was awarded 'Year Round Growth Banner' of Lions International in the
year 2008-2009 under his Leadership as President of the Club. Again in 2009-2010 he got the Club
'Certificate of Appreciation of Multiple 0323 Council' for distinguished achievements in fulfilling the
services mission of International Association of Lions International.
His Leadership in Lionism has been been applauded at every level by PDG's and multiple
Councils by rewarding him 'Lion of the Year', International Presidents Diamond Pin' almost every
year of his Lionistic services. The Club also was rewarded by special "Membership Excellence
Reward". Lions Club International and Lions Club of Ipswich, UK banner for his speech in the Club regular meeting
in 2009-2010 presented by PDG Lion Bryn Roberts during their 35th Anniversary of the Ipswich Club.
His recent achievements of success are:
•Lion T.C.S. Pillai has been the main source of growth of our club with good members and has been recognised by
Lions International by awarding membership growth banner in 2008-09 and again a gold pin Centennial award
in2017-18 and a Daimond Centennieal Award in2018-19.
•Certified by Guinness World Records as the largest Diabetes Awareness Lesson (Sion, Parel and Other locations)
organised by Lions Coordination Committee of India Association on 20th November, 2017.
•Excellence in Membership Development by bringing in new quality members from amongst his colleagues of India
Railways and Indian Customs and winning International recognition during Centurion Membership development by
Pins of Honour in 2017- 2018. As District Chairman (Nation First) winning a Lions Shield of District 3231A3 for
Accomplishment, Commitment and Excellence during the Year 2017-2018
Professionally Lion T.C.S. Pillai belongs to India Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers (Selection Grade) with
his more than 39years of service to the Nation and also leading the Labour Organizations and Officers Union in
Local and National Level of Indian Railways. He has a wonderful Lion Lady Nirmala C. Pillai as his wife and two
sons Ravi Shekaran (Director in an MNC) and Venkateshan Pillai (Entrepreneur and Founder of IT/ITES Company)
happily married to Mansi and Manisha with cute two grand children's Kartikeyan & Ananya.
Lion Tej Kaul due to sincerity, hard work, efficiency and devotion towards duty
reached up to the level of Head of Department in Railways which is a great
achievement. In 2013 after 36 years of glorious service he retired as Chief
Commercial Manager from CentralRailway.
Wife of Lion Tej Kaul Mrs. Shakti Kaul is a Science Graduate, she has also done
Master of Arts andB.Ed.fromMumbai.PresentlysheisteachingPsychologyatSt.Xavier’scollegeMumbai.
Lion Tej Kaul has two children eldest daughter Shivangi, has done her Doctorate in Industrial Psychology from Delhi she
recently resigned from Tata Motors and currently based in Singapore. His son in law Abhishek Kaul, is working as Senior
Consultant at IBM Singapore. His son Tushar is working as Director Marketing in Bella & Duke, a firm supplying Pet
Food. His daughter in law is working as Logistic Manager in Baxters a Multinational Company. Both are based in
Edinburgh, ScotlandUK.
Lion Tej Kaul has recently joined Lions Club of Bombay Parel but he takes active part in all the Service Activities and
Meetings. We are sure that in the next Lionistic year Lion Tej Kaul will take an important position in club and
contribute his services for the betterment of Lions Club of Bombay Parel.
Lion V K Yadav joined Lions club Parel in the year 2015. He was secretary in the year 2017-
18. Presently working as President consequently for the year 2018-19 & 2019-2020. He is
willing to volunteer his services for any challenging task assigned to him. He got the club
certificate of appreciation for the dedicated services rendered to the organisation during
the year 2018-19 in fulfilling the service mission of International Association of Lions Club.
He is always on front line whether it is social or charitable activities of the club.
He did B.Sc, LL.B, D.LL from university of Rajasthan Jaipur. He is highly qualified officer
belong to the lndian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) with successful carrier of 37 years. Lion- V K Yadav joined
IRCTC in 2009 & worked here for three years as Joint General Manager, West Zone, Mumbai .Wherever he
worked, earned a good name for himself & got appreciation from his higher management.
He has a homely wife & one son, one daughter in his happy family.Wife - Smt Madhu Yadav- B.A.( English
Literature). She is a house wife.Son- Varun Yadav- B.E.- Working as 1st V.P. in Axis Bank in Mumbai.
Daughter in law- Shraddha Yadav- M.B.A.Working in J P.Morgan, blessed with two sons aged 6 & 2 years.
Daughter- Aditi Yadav, B.Com, M.A.,Fine Art (Kathak).She is Artistic Director of Ved Institute of Performing Art
& having branches a Prabhadevi , Kandivali East, Charni Road. She was honoured with several awards at
state & national level to her credit.She is blessed with twins daughter aged one year 6th months.Son in law-
Sanchit Yadav- M.B.A.He is working as a Manager in Advertising Co.
Lion A.K. Saini was born on 10th June 1956. He has passed M.Sc. from Bhopal
University in 1979. He joined Indian Railways in Commercial Department 1982. He
has worked in various capacities in Central Railway. In recognition of his sincerity, hard
work and efficiency he was promoted to a Gazetted Rank in the year1995.
After his superannuation on 31st June 2016 from Indian Railways he worked as Dy.
Chief Commercial Manger in Konkan Railway Corporation (KRCL). Now he is working
as Consultant in Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) West
Zone.
Lion Saini is computer literate and he has good knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and
conversant with Internet. During his 34 years of glorious service he received a number of awards for his
outstanding work some of the major awards are DRM award in 1994, GM award in 2001, Raj Bhasha Award in
2003, GM award in2008.
He is married to Mrs Rajni who is a home maker. He is having one son and one daughter. Lion Saini joined
Lions Club of Parel in 2017 although he is a new member but he is quite active and takes lot of interest in club
activities. His Computer knowledge will be very useful for effective communication, making club bulletins,
posting club activities on internet at our club website.
Lion Dr. Virendra Kumar Misra joined Lions Club of Bombay Parel in 2019. Although he is a new
entrant in our club but he actively and very enthusiastically participates in all the club Service
Activities and meetings. He served in Central Railway Commercial Department for about 40 years.
He has a lot of achievements to his credit in his glorious service of 40 years. He retired as Assistant
Commercial Manger in 2013 Dr. Virendra Misra practiced Ayurveda and Homoeopathy for 20 years in
Sion Mumbai and successfully treated hundreds of patients.He has obtained his B.A.M.S. degree
From Bombay University . His Fiction and Health related Articles are published in various reputed
Magazines. He is Editor of Hindi Magazine "Kala Sanskruti" His wife Mrs. Pratibha Misra has passed
M.A. & M.Com. She is a Home maker and actively supports her husband in all his activities.
His elder daughter is Post Graduate in Psychology from Bombay University and is doing counselling in Louisville,
Kentucky USA. His Son-in-Law Dr. Riten Nath Mitra is PHD Guide in Louisville University, Kentucky USA. His son is a
Commerce Graduate and successfully engaged in his own Business. We have lot of expectations from Lion Dr. Virendra
Misra to take up more responsible positions in our club and with his active participation take the club to higher pedestal of
success and glory.
Lion Nicholas Lawrence Korda joined Lions club Parel from July 2020 during
Pandemic of COVID19. He was born on 20.02.1959 at Mangalore but brought up
and studied at Nasik bcz his family was settled at Nashik due to his Grand father
and father were working in India Security Press, Nashik Road.
He is commerce and Law graduate and completed his B.Com (Hon's) and LL.B (First
class-First) from Pune University. He belongs to Indian Railway Traffic Service and
worked in various capacities in Legal, personnel and commercial departments of
Central Railway at Mumbai and retired as Dy.Chief Commercial Manager on
28.02.2019 after completing 39 years of glorious service.
His wife is also an IRPS officer and working as Dy Chief Personal Officer in Mumbai Division of Central
Railways, It is worth mentioning here that he is 3rd generation family which has served Central Government
with dedication and devotion for more than 100 years. His daughter has successfully completed Engineering
degree in Electronic and Telecommunications and recently joined prestigious Infosys at Pune.His son is
completing his education.Lion Mr Nicholas is keen to devout his time to achieve the objects and goal set up by
the International Lion Club.Till date his personal attendance on all virtual monthly Board meetings and Web
seminars are noteworthy, including participation in Blood Donation Camp at Parel to encourage all the sports
persons. Lastly a strong believer in Divine blessing, he has started his second innings to serve people at
large through his vast knowledge in Legal as well as General.
By profession Lion Gupta is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. He worked for twenty years
from the year 1963 in various positions in C. Rly. Locomotive Workshop Parel as well as
Carriage Workshop Matunga Workshop as Chief Jig & Tool Designer.
Lion U.C. Gupta joined RITES in 1985, he worked there for about twenty years. Because of his sincerity, dedication,
devotion to duty, hard work and efficient working he reached up to the level of Joint General Manager which is a rare
achievement for a person starting his career as Apprentice Mechanic.
He always take leading part in club activities such as organising club meetings, functions, District Governors visit, fund
raising drives, printing of souvenirs, docket for DG visit, Bulletin etc.
For the past several years he has successfully carried out a large number of need based service activities as Chief
Activity Coordinator such as Massive Tree Plantations, Environment Awareness programmes, Eye and Dental Care
Awareness and Check-up programmes, Cancer Awareness Programmes, Aids Awareness Programmes, Blood
Donation camps, Osteoporosis Awareness and Check-up programmes and camps, Tax planning and Smart Investment
Seminars, Programme on Global Warming, Organ Donation Awareness Programmesetc.
On behalf of Lions Club of Parel he donated six set of benches to Central Railway Health Unit Parel and one Refrigerator
to Western Railway Health Unit Borivali for storage of expensive lifesaving drugs and injections. Recently six sets of
imported very elegant and comfortable benches were donated to Dr. B.A.M. Hospital Central Railway Bhyculla, Mumbai-

He is having two daughters and one son. His elder daughter Varsha is settled in Minneapolis USA for more than twenty
years and is working as Chief Branch Manager in one of the most reputed Banks of USA viz Wells Fargo bank and her
husband Girish is a Software Engineer working as a Senior Executive in a company of International repute viz ‘3M’. His
second daughter Sheetal is a double Graduate with Engineering degree, settled in UK, currently she is working as Team
Leader in a Talent acquisition company in London. Her husband Vinod is working as Business Director in a leading
Advertising group WBP. His son Saket is working as Director Marketing in Scotland. He is given a task of developing a

Dr. Hemant Gaikwad did his MBBS DOMS from Grant Medical College where
he was the General Secretary of the StudentsUnion. In 1999 to celebrate the
silver jubilee of his batch he wrote this breezy book on his college days
named. ‘ChakarakaMakaraka’ The book is now in forth print. As a student
(1974-80) he was awarded The Rao Bahadur Maniar award for skin and
veneral disease, The B. B. Yodh research fellowship, The prize paper at
Bombay Medi Meet. He has won many prizes in debating, rock-climbing and
badminton at the College / University Competitions.
In 1980 during his internship he founded the Chirner Rural Medical Centre which
grew into a forty bed rural hospital. He was presented the Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani
by joint committee of Governors for the same. He has conducted many medical
camps and was commended by the then Speaker of India, Shri Manohar
Joshi.He had a strong desire to serve the nation and to fulfill his love for the uniform in 1986 he joined the
Home Guards as medical officer and he rose to be the Commandant of Greater Mumbai.
He was commended by the then Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar, Shri Ram Kapsefor his
activity during the Tsunami.During his tenure he started the Railway Suraksha Pathak to prevent
harassment/molestation of lady commuters. Today the duties also encompass the checking of commuters for
concealed bombs.
He is recipient of two service medals. 1. Swatantrata Suvarna Jayanti Padak – 1997, 2. Maharashtra
Rajya Home Guard Hirak Jayanti Padak - 2006.
He also specifically enrolled fishermen as Home Guards to guard the coast line of Mumbai especially
important after the 26 / 11 / 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai city. He was also instrumental in organizing
the first three Mumbai Marathons. He has also been commended by WHO for Pulse Polio He is the
Director of the Dr. Gaikwad Institute which has trained more than 7000 paramedics in the last twenty-five
years.
Dr. Gaikwad was the Regional officer (Maharashtra) for Bharat Sevak Samaj whose founder President
was Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. BSS was previously ‘The
ServantofIndiaSociety’foundedbyShriGopalKhrishnaGokhalein1902.
He was presented the Outstanding Principal Award by Lions Clubs International. He is also recipient of
BharatiyaChikitsaRatna Award.
He has written twenty manuals for nursing homes. His short stories / articles have appeared in Midday,

He is happily married to Dr. Pushpa Gaikwad who is an Ophthalmic Surgeon. They are blessed with two
children Dr. Gaurang a Homeopath and Dr. Gunjan a Dental Surgeon. Dr. Hemant Gaikwad recently
joined Lions Club of Bombay Parel. We are quite confident that he will be a very valuable asset for our
club. We are proud to be associated withhim.
Lion Sushil Kumar Yadav joined Lionism in July 2020. He was Born on 12-08-
1971. He is youngest member of the Parel club of Sr citizens. He is an Electrical
engineer by profession.He completed his Engineering degree from Government
technical institute Lucknow. Initially he worked with Pan India Pvt.Ltd., popularly
known as Essel world for the project of Water Kingdom as an electrical engineer.
Later on he started his own business as electrical contractor and completed many
private and government works.Presently he is one of the busiest electrical
contractor with Indian railway. His wife Smt.Arti yadav, a graduate in social science
is also working as proprietor of Aarti Electricals.
He has two daughters and one Son in his Happy Family. Elder daughter Ms
Ankita Yadav currently pursuing her post graduation in Microbiology,whereas younger Ms Akanksha
Yadav has Completed her graduation in Chemistry. Youngest one Master Dev Yadav Presently pursuing
B.E in information technology. Lion Yadav is very sincere and enthusiastic towards social services than
only he chose to join Lionism in spite of his very busy business schedule.
Lion O.P. Uppal joined lions club of Parel in 1996. He successfully held
a number of important positions in the club. Lion O.P.Uppal was unani-
mously elected President of Lions Club of Parel in the year 2005-06. He
successfully carried out a number of need based service activities in his
tenure as club president. Lion Uppal is connected with many other
services, education and sports organisation. He is ex Vice president of
Federation of All India Automobile Spare parts Dealer associations, Life
member of Bombay Hockey association, Punjab Association, Sri
Sanatan Dharam Sabha,Koliwada Sanatan Dharam Sabha Education
Societies and Punjab Seva Samiti. He is director of Punjab and
Maharashtra Cooperative Bank limited Mumbai. Inspite of his very busy schedule he takes interest
and renders his services to Lion Club of Parel. He always comes forward whenever any donation or
funds are required for Lions Club service activities. By Profession he is in the business of automobile
spare parts and successfully running the same. Lion O.P.Uppal was born on 5th May 1942 in
Lahore, now in Pakistan. He got married to Ms. Phoola Kapoor on 30th Jan. 1957. His wife retired as
Head Mistress. She was awarded best Teacher in 1984 by BMC’s Mayor award. Lion O.P. Uppal
gives all the credit to his wife for his entire success in his life.

On first day of lionistic year 2021 i.e. 01.07.2021 on initiative of Lions Club of
Bombay Parel a hunger activity was organised at Balika Ashram Dadar East. Due
to pandemic and strict protocol from the government of Maharastra and on
information from the manager vigilance association about the restrictions on entry
in the children area, it was decided to limit the number of lion members to five to
attend the activity. Accordingly following attended the activity-
Lions club Bombay parel donated cost of one time meals i.e. 2500/- to the Ballika
Ashram as other days were already occupied by other donors. Due to pandemic
entry to children area and the office area was restricted; hence the cheque was
handed over to the Ms. Jyoti Punwatkar superintendent, the Bombay Vigilance
Association. Ms Jyoti Punwatrkar informed that the TV which was donated to the
Ashram earlier by the club is not functioning and there is unhappiness as children
are not allowed to go out of the ashram. She was asked to call the mechanic and ask
for the total cost of repairing the TV. in the evening Ms Punwatkar telephoned to the
President Lion S C Pathak that TV mechanic visited the ashram and he had
informed that estimated cost of repair will be to the tune of Rs 18000/-. She was
informed that the matter will be discussed in the next meeting which will be held
shortly and decision taken will be advised to her.

Saplings of Palm tree and coconut tree were planted by each member of the club and staff
of the workshop. Lion S C Pathak President and Sri Amit Joshi Dy CMM Matunga Workshop
jointly planted a sapling of Palm tree, thereafter Sapling of coconut and plam tree were
planted by Lion Mahesh Kashyap RC and Lion Pravin Khabra- ZC ,Lion R B Dixit 1st Vice
President of the club, Lion R B Jadhav Secretary of the club , Lion V K MIsra and Lion N L Korda
also planted sapling of palm and coconut tree. Staff of workshop also participated in the
activity by planting sapling. Lion P P Panwalkar – DG and Lion Sanjay Churry District Cabinet
Secretary was also invited for the activity but due to his preoccupation they could not attend
the activity. However they have sent their greetings for the success of the activity.
Plantation of the tree will not only enhance the ambiance of the area but also make it a
better place of working for more than 6000 employee of the workshop. It will also improve the
quality of air which will not benefits the staff working in the workshop bur also people living in
the surrounding.
Tree Plantation activity was followed by an environment awareness programme in the
office premises of the workshop. This brief programme was attended by staff of the workshop.

of the tree plantation in the present time.
Before the tree plantation members of the club visited the site where the club had planted
trees in earlier years and were happy to note that they are growing and are being well looked
after by the staff of the store department.

On this occasion Sri Shubham Singh student of the college along with his father Sri
Santosh Singh and vice principal of the college Sri Rakesh Singh were present .
another student could not attend the function due to his domestic engagements.
One lap top was presented to sri Shubham Singh by the President Lion S C Pathak
while the other was given to Sri Rakesh Singh for handing it over to other student in
the college.
Lion U C Gupta thanked the Vice Principal of the college for accepting his offer to donate
these laptops to the needy and deserving students. Sri Rakesh Singh Vice Pincipal of the
college thanked the lions club and lion U C Gupta for donating the lap tops.
The activity ended with delicious food prepared by Mrs Gupta.

Ms Anjali Sinha Chief Workshop Manager was invited as Chief Guest and District Governor Lion Prasad P.
PanvalkarMJF was Guest of Honour.
A team of competent Doctors, technicians and supporting staff from Nair Hospital were invited for Blood
collection. Before Blood collection health of the donor was checked by the doctors. Blood was collected only
from fit donors. One hundred and fifty Two bottles of blood was collected from donors. Blood collected in
the camp will be utilised for saving precious lives of seriously injured or sick persons.
On behalf of Lions Clubs, as a token of appreciation for their noble act of donating blood by the workers of
the workshop and to motivate them and other donors to more frequently donate blood an attractive gift to
all the donors was given. .
A large number of District dignitaries attended the programme. Prominent among them were District
Governor Lion Prasad P.Panvalkar, Lion Lilly Mistry, Adv. SatishKabbur, Lion Viraf Mistry, ChunaBhati Club
was represented by Lion Purvi Patel , President Lion Varsha Vora Secretary,Lion Shobha Avhad Treasure,
Lion Pravin Kharwa, President Lion club Of Pydhoni and many more. A large number of members of Lions
Club of Parel, and members of CRMS, Officers and other employees of Matunga Workshop attended the
programme.
Ms Anjali Sinha Chief Workshop Manager gave very inspiring speech on this occasion. Lion Mahesh Kashyap
RC explained the objective of the lionism. Lio club of khalsa also contributed to great extent for
successfully conducting the activity Refreshments were served to participants of the programme.

A virtual Seminar on eye care was organised on Sunday 13.03.2022 from 10.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs.
In his opening remark President of the club Lion S C Pathak welcomed Dr. Chintan and other
par cipants and emphasised on the need of such seminars. . He informed the members that about 80
Lakh people in our country are unable to see, 75% of these people can be cured but due to lack of
knowledge and financial condi on they are not ge ng proper treatment.
Dr. Chintan Dedhia an eminent eye surgeon was invited as key note speaker. Dr. Chintan is
currently consultant Ophthalmologist & vitro –Re nal surgeon at Shree Aadinath Eye & Dental care,
super speciality clinic Mulund . Dr. Chintan completed his MBBS from pres gious Seth GS medical
college and KEM hospital Mumbai. Dr Chintan did his post gradua on from Govt Medical College
Bhavnagar. Dr Chintan has many achievements to his credit.
Dr. Chintan through visual presenta on enlightened par cipants about common ailments, its
symptoms, and preven on. He explained how early detec on and mely detec on of many eye
diseases can not completely cured, special care to be taken for the children. Dr. Through his video
explained how cataracts opera ons are performed by laser beam technique. He also spoke in detail
about the impact of diabe c on eye and how this can be prevented. Dr. Chintan spoke for li le more
than an hour and every viewer was a en ve in listening to him to get the maximum benefits from his
knowledge.
The session was followed by ques on answer session. Many viewers asked they ques on and
Dr. Chintan sa sfied their quarry.
Lion Prasad Panvalkar also spoke on the occasion. He spoke that lions clubs are doing yeoman's
service in this field yet much more has to be done. He shared his experience of a hospital in U ar
Pradesh.

Balance in charity account as on 12.01.22 was Rs . 105,388.83/- and in administrative
account as on 05.02.22 was Rs- 1,39,863.24. Lion Mulgund informed that as per statutory
provision there must one meeting of trustees every quarter.
6. Members were informed that no activity was performed since last meeting. Two activity viz.
Vision and diabetic are yet to be performed. Lion TCS Pillai agreed to invite a doctor for
delivering lecture on eye care through zoom. Paediatric cancer activity was performed by
paying Rs 10010/ for fulfilling wish of two children. Members were informed about this through
watsup. Lion M K Kashyap informed that Region Conference will held on 28.03.22 at Mysore
Association Matunga . All the members are requested to attend. Victual charges for the Region
conference are likely to be Rs. 1000/-, 50% of which shall be contributed by club.
