Maths

This document provides a transition guide for Year 11 students moving to A-Level mathematics. It outlines key topics from GCSE maths that are expected knowledge for A-Levels, such as indices, surds, and quadratic equations. It includes sample problems for students to practice these skills over the summer break in preparation for more advanced maths. Students are advised to show their work on lined paper and submit it for review when the new term begins.

This work is expected that you can simply complete it. If you find that you cannot remember what to do, or you
have not seen it before then use your summer time to prepare for you’re A-Level in mathematics.

Please get in contact with the school if you feel that you need additional guidance or support completing this
work.
You should complete this work on lined A4 paper. I would advise you not to get spiral bound paper, as a file and
a folder are much more suitable.

Completion of work is required and you should be handing it to your teachers during the second full week of term.
