Koalas are iconic marsupials found in eastern Australia. They sleep for up to 20 hours a day and live in tall eucalyptus forests. Koalas have large round heads with big fluffy ears, grey-brown and white fur, and measure 60-85cm weighing around 14kg. They eat between 0.5-1kg of eucalyptus leaves per night and need to drink water. Koala populations are declining as they lose their homes to excessive tree clearing.
