Basic Rules
By design this spread and the next are all you need to play. This one
teaches all the basics and the next one is for space combat.

Referee One player is the Referee (RF). They

e
describe the world, its inhabitants and the
situation the player characters (PCs) are in.

fil
Players The other players play the crew members.
They ask questions and say what actions their
characters take. The RF considers the actions
and describes how they change the situation.

Sometimes, they ask a player to roll dice to

decide the outcome.

Rounds
e
The game is conducted in rounds. Each
round lasts until every player has taken a turn.
pl
On your turn you can use an action and a
move. The RF goes first, then we go clockwise.

Actions Actions are what your character does as per

your description, like attacking a goon, using
m

an item or negotiating terms.

Move Mostly, you say where you go and get there.

In combat, you can move from the front to the
back or vice versa or take a turn doing nothing
Sa

but flee, to get away from combat.

Dice Rolls The game uses six-sided dice (d6).

• D6 = roll a d6.
• D3 = d6 divided by 3 rounding up.
• 2d6 = roll two d6 and add them up.
• D66 = roll two d6, one’s the ten’s digit,
the other the single digit. 2 and 4 is 24.

2
Modifiers If you got an advantage, like from an item,
roll twice and use the better result.

If you got a disadvantage, like from your

career, roll twice and use the worse result.

Stats Creatures have three stats, rated -2 to +2.

e
• Body. How agile, strong or tough you are.
• Touch. How skilled your hands are.

fil
• Wits. How sharp your tongue and will are.

Saves Actions PCs are trained in just succeed.

Only if an action is risky, a Save is rolled as
d6 plus the stat that most helps or hinders.
You ask “Do I avoid the risk?”
e
• On a 3 or less the answer is no. If sensi-
ble, there’s an upside (no, but) on a 3.
• On a 4 or more the answer is yes. If sensi-
pl
ble, there’s a downside (yes, but) on a 4.

Hit Points Attacks always hit, causing damage. The

damage reduces the target’s hit points. Using
hit points to reduce damage, means you avoid
m

serious wounds.

Weapons will deal 1d6 damage to targets.

Unarmed attacks or improvised weapons deal
half that or 1d3 damage.
Sa

You take a wound, each time hp are reduced

below zero. Having two wounds, means a
character is dying. If they cannot be stabilized
within 1d6 rounds, they die.

Recovery You recover hp after taking a break, sitting

down, drinking some water etc. A wound
takes a week of rest in a safe place to heal.
