CREATING A COURSE AND OFFERING

WHY: To create a Course in Oracle Learn with an Offering that Team Members can enroll and participate
in.

MATERIALS:

1. Learning Admin Access to My Client Groups


2. Course you would like to create
a. Name
b. Description
c. Dates available
d. Cost (if applicable)
e. Logo/Branding image
f. Slides (if applicable)
3. Offering you would like to create
a. Name
b. Description
c. Dates
d. Activity
i. Zoom or classroom location if Activity is in person
e. **Content for Activity if it is self-paced

**Content must be live – refer to Load Content in Oracle (SOP)

STEPS TO BUILD A COURSE AND OFFERING:

1. Go to Oracle
2. Go to My Client Groups

3. Select the Learning Icon


4. Then scroll to Courses and click Courses

5. To create a new Course go to +Create

6. You will go into the Course creation/edit page

7. Add the title the Course – The title must be unique (no duplicates)
8. Add the syllabus or summary of the Course in the Syllabus section
9. In the Short Description, give a brief idea of what the Course is about
10. In the Publish Start Date – this is the date that the Course will be available to all Team Members

11. The Publish End Date is the date that the Course will no longer be available to all Team
Members
a. If desired you can leave it blank so that it will be available indefinitely
12. Add Branding Image which is the Caesars Logo

13. If you have a set of slides/deck add it into the attachments and fill information accordingly

14. Select OK to confirm


15. Scroll up and select “Save and Close”

16. Now we have a course built:

17. Now we must build an Offering, without an Offering Team Members cannot complete the
Course by themselves
18. On the left hand side click Offerings
19. On this page we can create an Offering, but you can also search for Offering titles much like
searching for a Course (refer to How to Enroll In a Course SOP if needed)

20. To create a new Offering, click the Create button and there will be different types of Offerings
available

a. Instructor-Led: there is a live instructor either on a webinar or a physical classroom


b. Self-Paced: Team Members take the Offering at their own time and is typically a video
c. Blended: a mix of both above
21. For this example we will be creating an Instructor-Led Offering

22. Title the Offering


23. Description of the Offering is the summary or the Syllabus information from the Course page
24. Set the Offering Dates

a. These dates must be in the time frame of the Course


25. Scroll to the top of the page on the right hand side and Save

26. Now go to the Activities Tab

27. Title the Activity


28. Description is the same as the Offering/Course descriptions
29. Next select the Activity Date
a. As an Instructor-Led Offering this typically has a single date
b. For Self-Paced Offering this may not be relevant

30. Add in Start Times and End Times


a. If needed, change time zone

31. If there is a Zoom/Webinar Link add it to the Virtual Classroom URL


32. If it is a physical classroom select Add New Classroom and search for the location
33. Scroll up to the upper right and select Close
34. Then Save and Close the Offering

DONE
