Riemann Integration

1. Riemann integration involves dividing an interval into subintervals and approximating the area under a function using rectangles. The upper and lower Riemann sums provide upper and lower bounds for the area. 2. A function is Riemann integrable if the upper and lower Riemann sums converge to the same value as the sizes of the subintervals approach zero. Refining a partition can only decrease the difference between the upper and lower sums. 3. The Riemann integral of a function over an interval is defined as the common limit of the upper and lower Riemann sums, provided this limit exists.
