Argument
To make a library iconic and disseminate its existence over a larger scale, having a
unique or appealing form becomes essential, while still being more functional than
being a grandiose. The diversity of shapes and forms is what keeps its architecture
fascinating, which results in increasing footfall at the library.
Summary:
Rectangular spaces have now become the basic design and first thought, when focusing
on efficiency, but to achieve a balance between form and function, having a specially
designed shape is necessary. Architectural briefs rarely ask for anything more than to
fulfill the requested function. Given the modern day technological developments, one
might wonder if there is then any future for libraries.
A library building has very specific requirements, and similar spaces may not be able
fulfill different functions. Using shapes and forms according to requirements not only
produces a visually appealing design but also allows us to arrange, associate or
separate components and structure in a variety of ways. The message of design is

We need to ensure that good and workable spaces are designed. A library building
should planned for next generation also. Having good unique design ensures that the
future development of libraries will happen in similar manner. Although fancy shapes
