1- Does he take the bus to school? - yes, he does.
2- Do they live in a big city? - No, they don`t.
3- Do you like to play tennis? - yes, we do.
4- Do they watch TV a lot? - No, they don`t.
5- Does he live in an apartment? - Yes, he does.
6- Do the students work hard? - Yes, they do.
7- Does she eat in the cafeteria? - No, she doesn`t.
8- Do you speak French? - Yes, I do.
Form a question using the correct question word:
1- How many children do they have?
2- How many languages does he speak? 3- With whom does she live? ( Whom is used to ask about a person in a place of an object; whereas, who is used to ask about a person in a place of a subject) 4- Where do they eat lunch every day? 5- When do you go to bed every night? 6- Why doesn`t she want to go to a movie? 7- What do they eat for breakfast every day? 8- What does he want for dinner?
Write a sentence about yourself using these frequency adverbs:
1- I always arrive at 7:30 pm.
2- I usually go to the café. 3- I often watch the TV. 4- I sometimes eat pizza . 5- I seldom see such beauty. ( Seldom means not often) 6- I rarely agree with my mum. 7- I never watch horror films.
Verb Phrases
Underline the verb phrase in each of the following sentences:
1- We have traveled to Elie’s home in Cairo, Egypt.
2- Egypt is situated in the northeastern section of Africa. 3- We couldn’t wait for our first tour of the country. 4- The ancient wonders of Egypt have been preserved. 5- Elie has been teaching us Egyptian history. 6- Tomorrow we will go to Pharaonic Village. 7- Daily life in ancient Egypt is reenacted there. 8- You can dress in the clothing of an Egyptian pharaoh. 9- Perhaps someone will take your picture. 10- Don’t forget your camera. 11- From about 1290 to 1224 B.C., Ramses II was pharaoh of Egypt. ( No verb phrase, just a main verb) 12- Ramses II is known as Ramses the Great. 13- The preparation of Ramses’ body for burial may have taken seventy days. 14- Scientists have conducted tests on the mummy of Ramses. 15- What did the scientists learn? 16- The pharaoh’s health couldn’t have been too poor. 17- The reign of Ramses lasted more than sixty years. ( No verb phrase, just a main verb) 18- For three thousand years his mummy has survived. 19- Some ancient mummies can be found in museums. 20- New airtight cases have been developed for their protection.
