STRUCTURAL INSPECTION PROGRAM
1. General
This section provides basic scheduled tasks and intervals applicable to aircraft structure. Tasks have been
developed considering the following types of damage sources:
• Accidental Damage (AD)
• Environmental Deterioration (ED)
• Fatigue Damage (FD)
Fatigue and damage tolerant inspections directly related to fatigue damage detection will be established
by fatigue testing and published in the AMM Chapter 05-10-10, Airworthiness Limitations Instructions
(ALIs).
The ED tasks for metals are developed taking into account the objectives of a Corrosion Prevention and
Control Program, with the aim of controlling corrosion on the aircraft to Corrosion Level 1 or better.
All aircraft in an operator’s fleet are subject to the provisions of this report. These requirements include
external, internal inspections and Corrosion Prevention and Control Programs. Calendar time, flight
cycles, or flight hours express the initial check intervals for the Structural Inspection Program (SIP). Do not
optimize a repeat inspection interval until at least one aircraft in an operator’s fleet has been inspected
within the initially defined interval listed in the MRB report.
2. Purpose
The inspection of external and internal aircraft structure serves to detect any damage and enable a repair
of the condition before residual strength declines to an unacceptable level.
3. Airworthiness Limitations Instructions
Structural tasks which satisfy ALI requirements are listed in this section and AMM Chapter 05-10-10. The
ALI tasks refer to mandatory fixed intervals resulting from fatigue and damage tolerance analysis. FAA
-ACO approval is required for changes to tasks that are identified as addressing an ″ALI″ requirement.
Intervals must must not exceed the stated PSE Initial / Repeat as applicable.The operator must consider
both MRB report and AMM Chapter 05-10-10 requirements when developing and maintaining a
maintenance program.
4. Program Rules
a. Structural inspection program intervals will be specified in units of C Check (i.e., 2C, 12C).
NOTE: Landings / flight cycles may be specified for landing gear, powerplant and structural
related items.
b. Intervals may be shown in only one repeat interval column (AD, ED, FD); however, the task is
intended to encompass any evidence of deterioration from AD, ED and / or FD. Intervals specified
are displayed separately to show the primary basis for the selected task / interval. Additionally, this
adds the ability to verify that a corrosion program is an integral part of the structural inspection
program.
c. When inspections indicate evidence of deterioration, appropriate action shall be taken (i.e.,
additional samples, decreased intervals, etc.).
d. All inspections are zone specific.
e. Unless otherwise noted, it is understood that removal or displacement of components, installations,
lining or insulation is not required to perform a general visual inspection.

5. Recording Requirements
Results of inspections should be recorded and retained by the operator. Findings of corrosion which
exceed Level 1 (i.e., Levels 2, 3) shall be reported to Gulfstream Reliability and Maintainability quarterly.
