5 Why Analysis
5 Why Analysis
- We chose the traffic problem because it is a prevalent issue that affects daily life in
many cities, including Baguio City. Traffic congestion has a significant impact on
transportation efficiency, environmental sustainability, and overall quality of life.
We gathered data research and interview to support our analysis of the traffic
problem in Baguio City
High volume of vehicles on the roads: The influx of tourists and residents using private
vehicles contributes to the heavy traffic in Baguio City.
Limited or inefficient public transportation options: The inadequate infrastructure and
insufficient investment in public transport led to a reliance on private vehicles and a
lack of viable alternatives for commuters.
Inadequate infrastructure and insufficient investment in public transport: Challenges in
urban planning, limited funding, and competing priorities hinder the development and
improvement of public transportation infrastructure.
Limited road capacity and inadequate traffic management systems: The city's
topography, rapid urbanization, and outdated infrastructure result in congestion
hotspots and ineffective traffic flow management.
Challenges in retrofitting roads and insufficient urban planning: Difficulties in modifying
existing roads to accommodate increased traffic, inadequate urban planning, and
limitations in addressing the growing transportation needs of the city.
We can raise awareness among the community about the impacts of traffic
congestion and the benefits of sustainable transportation options. By organizing
campaigns, workshops, and educational events, we can encourage behavioral
changes such as carpooling, using public transportation, and promoting active modes
of transport like walking and cycling.
