Iblees's Jealousy
Iblees's Jealousy
6:53 PM
Surah Araf verse 11.
Iblees's status was elevated more than the angels because of how much effort and work iblis put in.
imagine an employee who works hard from a water boy to VP of a company. All of a sudden he's
stripped of his position down to a water boy to a 16 year old who'll replace him. iblis and all the
angels were commanded to bow down because of the creation Adam (to bow to Allah because of
how amazing Adam's creation is) however iblis objected, he said khalaqtani min nar. "what's so
awesome about him? I'm created from fire" khalaqtahum min teen (u created him from clay) "you
didn't have everyone bow for me?" Allah exposed iblis's motive of worshiping Allah all along, iblis's
motive was only for recognition. Not to please Allah. - both Adam and Iblis disobeyed Allah, but
iblis tried to justify it, while Adam didn't try to justify it. - before Adam was created, Allah made an
announcement to all the angels that "inni jailun fil ardi khalifa" I'll send down a khalifa down to the
earth that will have generations that'll follow it. So the purpose of creating Adam was to be on Earth
to begin with. iblis comes to Adam later and says "hey I was there when the announcement was
made, you're going to be demoted to earth. the only people who stay here are permanent residents, if
you wanna stay here in jannah, u have to eat from this tree." - so when adam eats from the tree and
Allah says "now you'll be sent to go to the earth because of the mistake you have committed"
couldn't Adam say to Allah that "oh Allah, you were sending me to the earth anyways, what do you
mean that I'm going as punishment because of this mistake, the announcement was already made
that I'll go down to earth?" - (There are people who ask or wonder, "if Allah already knows what I'm
going to do, why is it my fault?") The first human being that couldv asked that question is Adam, but
yet he didn't, in humility. Whereas iblis tried to offer a logical excuse. Adam's response was humility,
he was embarrassed that no matter how logical I think I am, I can't be more logical than Allah and
when I make a mistake I will take ownership instead of blaming Allah. Adam said the dua " rabbana
thalamna anfusina ( we wronged ourselves)" Take home message: Prophet (pbuh) said kullu bani
Adam khattta-un." all children of Adam make mistakes. " (khaatiun is mistake, khatttaun is mistakes
repeatedly) however but the believers own up to the mistakes and repent. - prophet (pbuh) said "by
the One in whose hand is my soul, if you did not commit sin, Allah would replace you with people
who would commit sin then pray for forgiveness." (Muslim 2749) and prophet (pbuh)says " every son
of Adam sins and the best of those who sin are those who repent" "tirmidi 2499
