PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Fire doors and frames shall be fabricated in accordance with the requirements set forth in this report and any other documents referenced in this report. ies and Procedures For general construction details, see the Talleres Roper SA follow-up Facili Audit Manual referenced in Section VII of this report. A general descriptions of Model 63264 and 63234 doors and frames — rated up to and including 3.0 hours - are shown below: Model 63264 and 63234 fire doors are provided as single swing hollow metal type fire doors. The doors are a nominal 55 mm (2.2 in) thick. Face sheets, vertical and horizontal edges are fabricated from 24 gauge galvanized steel having a thickness of 0.6 mm (0.024 in). The interior top portion of the door where the door closer is mounted is reinforced with a 380 x 65 x 1 mm (15 x 2.5 x 0.040 in) steel channel. The interior of the doors are insulated with unfaced rock wool having, a minimum density of 165 Kg/m’ and adhered to the steel with a silicate adhesive. Fire doors frames are provided fixed fabricated from 16 gauge galvanized steel having a thickness of 1.5 mm (0.059 in). ‘The frame sits within the opening and extends along the face of wall and extends along the face of the wall. ‘The frames are secured to the wall using 9.5 mm (3/8 in) diameter anchors. The anchors are located 203 mm (8 in) apart in each vertical jamb and provided 25 mm (I in) apart in the header. ‘The Model 63264 assembly is right hinged and opens towards the hinged side while the Mode! 63234 assembly has hinges on the left side and opens towards the hinged side. ‘The cavity formed between the wall and the frame shall be completely filled with non shrink grout, ‘The door panels and frames are painted prior to shipping, Prior to painting, all surfaces must be prepared to ensure that they are clean and free from oil, grease, dust, dirt, and other contaminants, Page 3 of 7 m 3 32 33 34 35 Iv 4d 42 43 SA FM APPROVALS Project ID 3039086 INSTALLATION Fire doors are designed to close automatically in the event of fire to protect wall openings against the passage of flame and hot gases. Automatic closing is accomplished by means of a mechanical door closer attached to the door or by means of spring hinges. Doors and frames shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association, Standard 80, "Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives." All hardware such as, but not limited to, door closers and fire exit hardware devices, used in conjunction with these door panels, shall bear a certification marking of an independent certification/testing agency for the desired hourly rating. door frames bearing a label with a specific rating which are used with labeled fire doors, or hardware having a lesser or greater rating, will provide the degree of fire protection afforded the lesser rating of either frame, door or hardware. Frames shall be secured to the opening using the anchoring devices shown in the manufacturing procedures referenced above. EXAMINATIONS AND TESTS ‘The fire door and frame examined in this report have satisfactorily withstood a fire endurance test followed by a hose stream test while mounted in a test assembly. A representative of FM Approvals witnessed the tests. ‘The fire and hose stream tests for Mode! 63264 are documented in Project 1D 3039086. They were conducted in accordance with the standards referenced in paragraph 1.5. These fire test requirements meet or exceed the test requirements contained in Approval Standard 4100 "Fire Door and Frame Assemblies" (10/88). The fire test is documented in CIDEMCO Report Number 26100-a dated October 7, 2010. A copy is on file at FM Approvals. ‘The maximum temperature rise of the unexposed face of the fire door was 57 °C (135°F). The fire test is documented in CIDEMCO Report Number 26100-a dated October 7, 2010. A copy is on file at FM Approvals. MARKING Doors specifically covered by this report shall be equipped with a permanent serialized label showing the manufacturer’s name and address, rating, test designation, the Approval Mark of FM Approvals and the words "Fire Door". ‘The labels shall be attached to the hinge side of the door panel at eye level. Page 4 of 7 ne 52 52.1 53 3A 55 VI 61 62 63 64 vir Ta FM APPROVALS, Project ID 3039086 Frames specifically covered by this report shall be equipped with a permanent serialized label showing the manufacturer’s name and address, rating, the Approval Mark of FM Approvals and the words “Fire Door Frame”, As an alternate, frames may contain an embossment showing the manufacturer's name and address (optional), the rating, the Approval Mark of FM Approvals, the words “Fire Door Frame”, and a die authorization number. Labels denoting Approval shall be attached only to products fabricated in accordance with this report and its attached Appendices. Labels denoting Approval shall be applied by the manufacturer only within, and on the premises of, manufacturing locations that are under the FM Approvals Facilities and Procedures Audit Program. A facsimile of each label shall be kept on file at FM Approvals. MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITIES FM Approval is based upon the fabrication of fire doors and frames in accordance with this Approval Report, satisfactory field experience and continued use of acceptable quality control procedures as determined by Facilities and Procedures Audit. ‘The manufacturer shall be responsible for the continuous high quality of all fire door and frame ‘and components and shall notify FM Approvals of intended changes in any component listed in this report. All requests for changes shall be made and agreed to in writing utilizing FM Approvals Form 797, "Approved Product-Revision Report’, prior to fabrication and/or distribution for sale. ‘The manufacturer shall supply all the necessary instructions and other assistance to the installer to censure proper installation and maintenance. ‘The manufacturer shall establish and adhere to sufficient quality controls to ensure that labels denoting Approval shall only be applied to products conforming to the requirements set forth in this report. FACILITIES AND PROCEDURES AUDITS ‘Ongoing Facilities and Procedures Audits of the Cantabria, Spain facility will indicate that this location has the necessary equipment, facilities, personnel and quality controls to fabricate the fire doors and frames listed in this report. Page 5 of 7 72 13 73H vin Ix O41 92 93 93.1 94 FM APPROVALS Project ID 3039086 Periodic, unannounced Facilities and Procedures Audits will be conducted to determine that the quality and uniformity of the component parts being used in the fabrication of Approved fire door and frame assemblies are being maintained and that they are providing a level of quality equivalent to that originally Approved. Approval recognition is contingent upon satisfactory results of the follow-up Facilities and Procedures Audits. Unsatisfuctory results of Facilities and Procedures Audits may result in additional Facilities and Procedures Audits as deemed necessary by FM Approvals or forfeiture of Approval recognition. DOCUMENTATION The following documents describe the fire door and frame assemblies referenced in this report. A copy is kept on file at FM Approvals. CONCLUSIONS Roper swinging fire doors and frames, Models 63264 and 63234, as described in this report, meet, the Approval requirements of FM Approvals for the protection of openings in walls. The Model (63264 and 63234 doors and frames shall be rated up to and including 3 hours. ‘The doors and frames have satisfactorily withstood a fire endurance and hose stream test. Th tests were conducted in accordance with the standards shown in Paragraph 1.5. These fire test requirements meet or exceed the test requirements contained in Approval Standard 4100 "Fire Door and Frame Assemblies" (10/88). For maximum allowable opening size, hardware requirements or limitations, see Section Il. For general construction features such as cutouts, reinforcements, vision panel frames and other miscellaneous components, see the Roper follow-up Facilities and Procedures Audit Manual referenced in Section VIII of this report. ‘The test assemblies withstood the fire endurance and hose stream tests without developing any through openings. No flaming occurred on the unexposed side of the door assemblies during the classification period. All conditions of acceptance of the applicable test methods were met. On-going Facilities and Procedures Audits of the Roper facility located in Cantabria, Spain indicate that this location has the necessary equipment, facilities, personnel and quality controls to fabricate the fire doors and frames examined in this report. Page 6 of 7 FM APPROVALS Project ID 3039086 9.5 Continued Approval is dependent upon fabrication of fire doors and frames in accordance with this report, satisfactory field experience, and acceptable quality control procedures as determined by follow-up Facilities and Procedures Audits. 9.6 The fire doors and frames examined in this report meet Approval requirements and, as such, are cligible to bear a permanent, serialized label signifying Approval by FM Approvals. 9.7 Since a duly signed Master Agreement is on file for this customer, Approval is effective as of the date of this report.
