Definition of Terms
Meeting - gathering of people for a common purpose such as business, social, or
religious, purpose.
Incentives - a reward event intended to showcase persons who met or exceed sales or
production goals.
Conference - a meeting designed for a discussion fact finding problem solving and
consultation.
Exposition - it generally consists of a huge public display of the goods and services
of a particular industry.
PLANNER
Individuals or groups that plan meeting, conventions, and exhibitions.
Planners are classified into a number of categories such as:
Corporate meeting planners
Association meeting planners; and
Independent meeting planners
HOST FACILITIES
Provide lodging, meeting rooms, food and beverage, as well as number of other
services for group attending meetings conventions or exhibitions.
SERVICES
Refer to individuals and organizations that provide support for the meetings,
conventions, and exhibition segment.
EXHIBITORS/EXHIBITION
They provide much of the revenue needed for the planners to hold meetings
conventions and exhibitions.
