Note that everything I post only deals with Kingdom Hearts II. I
don't know what holds true for 2.5.
This is not true though. In Kingdom Hearts, the maximum you can
obtain for each of the three stats, strength, defense, and AP, is 100.
However, in Kingdom Hearts II, the game limits you to how many of
each Boost you can use rather than limit your stats to a number.
You can only use 100 Power Boosts, 100 Magic Boosts, 100
Defense Boosts, and 100 AP Boosts on Sora.
I am not sure if the bonuses you get as Roxas when choosing your
struggle weapon or doing the jobs to get AP+1 or AP+2 count
towards this 100 though.
Assuming the true base stat of magic to be 154, and the true base
AP to be 164, I can see how the sticky got the max stats:
Strength: Equip Ultima Weapon and 3 Star Charms (153 + 6 + 3 * 2
= 165)
Magic: Equip Ultima Weapon, 3 Star Charms, and choose magic
struggle weapon (154 + 4 + 3 * 2 + 1 = 165)
Defense: Equip 3 Ribbons (154 + 3 * 4 = 166)
AP: Equip Cosmic Ring, Cosmic Arts, and Star Charm, don't get
any AP bonus as Roxas (164 + 8 + 7 + 5 = 184)
This of course, assumes that the +1 Magic and +2 AP I got from
Roxas does not count towards the 100 Boost limit.
If this is the case, the sticky did not choose the best set of
equipment to maximize each stat. Again, assuming he chose staff
struggle weapon and no AP bonuses for Roxas, this is what he
should have chosen:
Strength: Equip Fenrir and 3 Star Charms (166)
Magic: Equip Fatal Crest and 3 Star Charms (166)
Defense: Equip Cosmic Belt and 2 Buster Bands (170)
AP: Equip Cosmic Ring, Cosmic Arts, and Master's Ring (186)
All of these numbers are higher than the ones in the sticky.
Of course, you cannot maximize all of these stats at the same time
since you can't wear all of this equipment at the same time.
Assuming the best equipment to be Decisive Pumpkin, Ribbon x3,
and Cosmic Arts and Star Charm x2, here are my stats:
Strength: 165
Magic: 162
Defense: 166
AP: 183
Of course, this topic is only for people with OCD, as none of these
numbers are practical in terms of having to go so high. If there is
any interest in this topic though, I can post the maximum stats for
all of your party members as well.
Have you done the deed, or just the math? If it's the math, anyone
could do the factoring for themselves, I'd imagine, and you needn't
burden yourself.
FWIW. I'm not a stat-maxing sort in general but if I was curious, I'd
wanna know the actual results. How many of each synthesis
material were needed and how long it took to farm the materials
and synthesize one hundred of each boosting item. The timeframe
has proven the show-stopper for most who take up the task,
whether declared ("what a nightmare!") or they simply go silent.
On the sticky being wrong, if you like request that it get unstickied
via the first post's "message detail". Few read beyond the initial
posts and won't find corrections, if any, posted deep into it.

I once made enough to get each stat around 100 and it was a
ridiculous amount of time and I can't even remember the amount
but it was more than anyone should reasonably need. And that was
just to get stats to 100.

You're going to tear down a very useful sticky based on a few stats
that no one cares about possibly being off? What an awful idea,
Falc. You gonna replace that sticky with a more correct one, dear?
Yeah, didn't think so...
If you are only interested in maxing stats for Sora, and you subtract
these, you will need 97 Power Boosts, 97 Magic Boosts, 97
Defense Boosts, and 50 AP Boosts. This requires:
This would obviously take a long time. The only thing that would
help is that by farming munny from the four Gamblers in the Moon
Chamber of Yen Sid's Tower, you can buy all of the Dense Gems
and Twilight Gems you need as long as you've unlocked that
requirement for the Moogles. Getting all of these would actually
probably only take about an hour, and since it's much faster than
farming the Energy Stones, might as well farm double the amount.
So I went back and tested it, and I was wrong. Roxas' bonuses
count towards the 100 Boost limit. So no matter what struggle
weapon you choose and how much munny you make with Roxas,
the final base stats are the same.
So for once and for all, at level 99 with all Boosts used, Sweet
Memories equipped, and no armor or accessories, Sora's base
stats:
Strength: 153
Magic: 155
Defense: 154
AP: 166
Strength: 165
Magic: 162
Defense: 166
AP: 183
And if you have max stats on Sora, you'll never need them for D&G.
The only thing that would help is that by farming munny from the
four Gamblers in the Moon Chamber of Yen Sid's Tower, you can
buy all of the Dense Gems and Twilight Gems you need as long as
you've unlocked that requirement for the Moogles.
Perhaps, but in the efforts to kill the tougher Nobodies for Crystals,
you'll likely get more than enough gems in the process.
Yeah, picking the Struggle weapon kinda works like yet another
Stat-Up item.

I said "if you like" and how-to. I didn't recommend anything; that's
your misreading. And one unsticky request doesn't result in a
pulled sticky short of linking errors. But it is one vote.
As for "very useful", the last time you read every word of it was...?
How much applies to ReMix 2.5, which is likely what will lead
gamers new to KH2 here?
You're critical of anyone who points out this isn't the board for the
revisions, so look at it from the other perspective. Pass along real
criticism of the sticky — perhaps in the sticky topic itself — that
gamers can use to gauge for themselves.

You'd think that, but this isn't totally true. You'll get Dense Gems
from Samurai in Naught's Skyway as you are farming Dense
Crystals from Berserkers there, but you actually won't get Twilight
Gems from Assassins anywhere, since they only spawn in the Hall
of Empty Melodies 2nd floor, and the only other thing there are the
Snipers that drop Dense Stones, which you don't need. So you're
better off buying all the Twilight Gems you need.
Bullcrap. Of course you did. Don't play the semantics game with
me, Falc...you sound like a lawyer. You wouldn't suggest it if you
didn't want it. And if you're truthful, do you often suggest bad ideas
that you don't agree with?
As for "very useful", the last time you read every word of it was...?
Don't need to. I'm not a new gamer. It's for new players and has
plenty of useful info. Why do I get the inkling that there is some sort
of "FAQ snobbery" seeping through here? Someone doesn't like
folks going to the sticky before going to the FAQs, I see.
You're critical of anyone who points out this isn't the board for the
revisions
I'm critical of the snobby response of "go to that board" that some
of those folks get, usually from yourself. I don't much care what
people talk about in any board. If someone wants to post a
question here about Batman Arkham City here, I don't care and I'll
give some advice. I'll leave the topic issues up to the mods if they
want to police it, as should you...it's not your job to police and no
one likes those who do.
Says the guy who derailed a thread just to respond to me. It's
hilarious how often you do this while maintaining the illusion that
you're above this stuff. Delusion is strong in this one...
BS. You're just finding justification for your posts where you
respond with generic advice that doesn't help their problem so you
can continue this illusion that you're some guru on this
series...you've always been obsessed with projecting this and all
the real vets can see through it and that's why none of them take
you seriously. Your pretend advice is no less useless than silence.
And there's the token false apology that Falc doesn't mean
because he apologies for everything, even if he did nothing wrong.
(Psst, you didn't Falc).
Laughable. You go toe to toe with me every time and NOW you
decide you're the bigger man and won't derail the thread? More
likely because you know you're losing this one so you're not even
going to try. This, of course, implies you were making a useful
contribution in the first place...all I saw was you trying to get help to
tear down the sticky...probably something you've wanted done for
a while now.
but you actually won't get Twilight Gems from Assassins anywhere,
since they only spawn in the Hall of Empty Melodies 2nd floor,
Ah, understood. I figure most do a big sweep of all the rooms since
most need to get a little of all of those materials. I seem to
remember grinding on the path up to the castle a bit for some
things...maybe I never needed Twilight Gems...or maybe I bought
them like you said.
