Self-portrait
In this creative activity children will design a self-portrait that remind them they are important to Jesus
Skills learned:
Materials needed:
Art material
Mirror or photo
Optional: Canvas or cardboard
Marker pen
Preparation:
Prepare area for painting
Create a wash station
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
Show the child the mirror or a photo of themselves.
Review parts of the face: Hair, eyes, mouth, nose, ears etc.
Talk about them, how many are there? What colour are they?
What shape? Etc.
Ask the child to draw or paint a picture of themselves.
When finished, write on the picture “NAME is important to Jesus”.

Hula hoop clock
In this activity children will learn simple time skills and numbers. It will remind them that Jesus always has time for
them.
Skills learned:
Materials needed:
Hula hoop
Sticks or paper arrows
Chalk (or numbers)
Preparation:
None
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
This activity is fun to do outside but can also be done indoors.
Place the hula hoop on the floor.
Show the child a picture of a clock. Note the numbers on the outside. Repeat the number together.
Write the numbers on the ground with chalk in the correct position. Repeat the numbers as you write.
Show how the big hand tells the minutes. Place it on the 12 and say this means ‘o’clock.
Next show how the small hand tells the hour.
Ask the child to move the stick or arrow to make different hour times.
For older toddlers that find the activity easy you can also introduce half-past the hour times.

Print out some picture of children from around the world
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
Learn the song ‘Jesus Loves the Little Children’ and sing together.

Show where you live on the map.
Say that people live all over the world.
Show some images of children from different places (maybe wearing traditional clothes).

Box maze
This fun maze activity will remind children how Jesus didn’t allow barriers to stop the little children coming to Him.

A Carboard box
Some extra cardboard strips.
Tape or hot glue.
A soft ball or pompom
The Jesus’ image.
Preparation:
Create a simple maze from a cardboard box.
Steps:

Show the child how to move the box around so that the pompom slides around.
Help them to tilt the box to bring the pom-pom (child) to Jesus.

Bring the children to Jesus

Preparation:
Cut out the images of the children and hide around a space
Steps:
For Babies and Toddlers:
Tell the child that you have hidden 5 pictures of children close by.
Ask them to help find them.
Count the children together,
Look at the numbers on their t-shirts.
Order the children from 1 to 5.
Ask the child to point to a picture as you give a description.
