Technology Club Event List for Feb 2023 – Aug 2023

1. International Hackathon:
Objective: A proposal of hackathon will be shared around a few international universities that are
partnered with Woxsen University. Hackathon will be of two rounds detailed as follows:

 Round-1: Online quiz will be conducted where the questions given are used as sharpening the
students for round-2.
 Round-2: Participants will be given problem statements and are required to solve them in
specific time period.
Outcome:

 Test the student ability of problem solving


 Exposure and networking

Target audience: School of Technology students

2. Data Science Workshop:


Objective: To conduct a 4hr hands-on workshop where the participants are taught Data Science
Terminologies such as Data Cleaning, EDA, Feature Extraction, Imputation and to build a prediction
model.
Outcome:

 Participants experience a hands-on practical work


 Participants will be able to perform data pre-processing and build a basic regression model

3. Analytics Competition:
Objective: To conduct a competition that involves the challenge of data analytics, visualization and
prediction for a given challenging data science.
Outcome:

 A challenge for the participant to test their own skills in the respective field.

Target Audience: B. Tech, BBA and MBA
4. UAV Workshop
Objective: To conduct a 1-day workshop on assembling the UAV components while also learning the
concept of each component.
Outcome:

 Provide the knowledge on fundamentals of UAV.

Mandal
Plan:
1. Technology club executives are trained to assemble all the components of UAV. Training
duration is expected to 1 month.
2. Then the participants will be given a session by the club executives
Requirements:

Along with the controller for each kit- extra Rs.5000


Total cost of each kit: Rs. 14500
Required number of kits: 10
Target Audience: School of Technology students
Outcome:

 Participants experience a hands-on practical work on working of UAV.


 Helpful for students of all the branches as they get chance to explore mechatronics.
 Students from Woxsen University will be able to provide workshops to other universities as
well.
Target Audience: B. Tech – 2026
5. Hardware Hackathon:
Objective: To conduct a national wide hackathon on prototype submissions. This hackathon is to be
conducted in 2 rounds.

 Round - 1: Participants have to submit their ideas and submit a video about their idea and a
glimpse of them working to it. This round can be done online.
 Round – 2: The ideas are shortlisted from round-1. The shortlisted participants have to come-
up with the prototype and demonstrate it. This is an offline round
Outcomes:

 Opportunity for students to demonstrate their novel ideas followed by the prototype.
 Exposure for the university

6. Scientific Paper Session:


Objective: To deliver a session on ‘How to write a scientific paper’. This event will be done
collaborating with two other COEs.
Outcome:

 Students gain knowledge on Research and publications.

Target Audience: Students of all schools

7. Full Stack Workshop:


Objective: To conduct a 4-7 days workshop on Full stack Development. Full stack dev includes
HTML, CSS, JS and MySQL(these are yet to change as the respective professor’s preference)
Outcome:

 Participants will be able to perform data pre-processing and build a basic regression model

8. Web Development Competition:


Objective: To conduct a competition where a participant is required to develop a complete functioning
website from the given problem statements.
Outcome:
 A perfect challenge to the participant to work on his ability to create and host a fully
functioning website.

Target Audience: School of technology students.

9. Quizzes:
Objective: The main objective in conducting these quizzes is to engage students of all schools
while also including a fun challenge for students.
Plan: These quizzes are to be participated in 2 vs 2. There will be 10 questions of 5 different sets
for the quiz. The participant gets a point if answered correctly and if answered wrong, they will
have to drink a sip of bitter gourd juice as part of the challenge.
Outcome:

 Engaging with students of all the schools

10. Ethical hacking workshop:


Objective: To conduct a 1-day workshop on Ethical hacking. Workshop includes of fundamentals of
ethical hacking and a hands-on session.
Outcome:

 Allows student to explore security domain of technology.


 Practical experience on basic cyber-attacks.

Target Audience: Open to all students of woxsen university.

11. Industrial Visit:


Objective: To take students of SOT to any one of the Tech companies such as Deloitte, Qualcomm,
etc., allowing the students to learn
Outcome:

 Understand the how a software company runs


 Interactions with project engineer teams
 Understanding of a real time software project management

Note: If workshops are instructed by students to students then it will be as part of Peer-to-Peer
Learning Series.
