Question 2 ~ GUIDED WRITING

Write your answer in 125-150 words in an appropriate style.

Your class is discussing whether to study abroad or locally after completing secondary
school. Your teacher has asked you to write an essay on why students should study abroad or
locally.

In your essay, you should write about:-

~advantages of studying locally

~ advantages of studying abroad

~ your choice and why

After completing secondary school, students often face the dilemma of whether to
study abroad or locally. Both options offer unique advantages that deserve careful
consideration. Studying locally provides a familiar environment, allowing students to
stay close to their families and friends. They can benefit from the comfort of their
cultural surroundings, maintaining a sense of belonging. Moreover, studying locally
often proves cost-effective, as students can avoid international travel and
accommodation expenses.

On the other hand, studying abroad presents a plethora of advantages. Immersion in

a foreign culture enhances global awareness and fosters personal growth. Students
gain exposure to diverse perspectives, improving their adaptability and intercultural
competence. Additionally, studying abroad offers opportunities to learn new
languages, expand networks, and experience different educational systems.

Considering the advantages of both options, my choice leans toward studying

abroad. While studying locally provides a sense of familiarity, the prospect of
personal growth, cultural immersion, and global exposure entices me. By stepping
out of my comfort zone, I believe I can broaden my horizons, develop valuable skills,
and become well-rounded. Although the financial aspect and homesickness may
pose challenges, the long-term benefits outweigh the temporary setbacks.

In recapitulate, the choice between studying abroad and locally ultimately depends
on individual preferences and goals. While studying locally offers comfort and
familiarity, studying abroad presents opportunities for personal growth and cultural
enrichment. After careful consideration, my inclination toward studying abroad stems
from the desire to explore the world, embrace diversity, and expand my educational
and personal horizons.
