v. Test the Kwh Meter For PWS with Phantom Load:


 Gently remove the terminal
cover of the energized kwh
meter. Make necessary
connections. Place the
alligator clips connected
from the test equipment to
the line side and load side
of the meter then install the
Clamp Ammeter to the line
side part of the meter.
 Find a power source and
energize the test
equipment and phantom
loader.
 For online test there's no
need to input specified
current from the phantom
loader since the meter is
energized.
 For off load test, procedure
is the same in test made in
the meterlab.
 Align the impulse sensor to
the LED/impulse indicator
of the meter to get
accurate test results.
For Mobile Meterlab and/or Meter
Site Analyzer:

 Pull-out the kwh meter to


be tested and temporarily
replace the meter
 Engage the meter in the
Meter Site Analyzer
 Align the impulse sensor to
the LED/impulse indicator
of the meter to get
accurate test results.
vi. Record data and test result  Record the percent error
 Observe the meter for
other remarks and findings
 Fill out the necessary form.
vii. Re-install the meter on site  If percent error falls under
allowable tolerance set by
ERC and found to be in good
condition, re-install the meter
and tag the in-service sticker
for easy identification.
 If meter’s percent error is
beyond allowable and/or
found defective and has
missing ERC seal,
permanently replace the
meter
