GPS Patron GNSS Quality Monitoring System

Overview
The self-learning distributed system is intended to protect time critical infrastructure and mobile objects like self-
driving cars. The self-learning distributed system for anomaly detection in GNSS signals like jamming\spoofing or
intentional and non-intentional RF interference.

It's support: GPS/QZSS L1 C/A, GLONASS L10F, BeiDou B1I, Galileo E1B/C, SBAS L1 C/A

The solution enables continuous monitoring of the positioning and time accuracy of infrastructures reliant on the
GNSS. This includes distributed synchronization systems such as time servers.

Common Industry Problems

Low-cost SDR like HackRF and open source software for GPS signal simulation such as osqzss/gps-sdr-sim has lead
to increase the tendency of spoofing attack to GNSS due to its low barrier of acquisition.

A huge amount of PNT servers are used for time

synchronization of banking transactions, cellular base
stations, power grid systems and are susceptible to
attacks. A successful attack can change the time or
coordinates and cause unpredictable heavy damages to
businesses.

It becomes necessary to implement complex monitoring

systems that will provide timely notifications of threats
and switch time-critical infrastructures to backup
synchronization channels. Such monitoring system shall
be easily integrated with currently deployed systems and
complement them with new functionalities.

Spoofing attack may cause serious accidents or casualties in self-driving cars and other moving applications. It is
important to have a spoofing detection in place along with the inertial navigation system.
Our solution
The system consists of low-cost three-channel GNSS probes (GP-Probe) and cloud service (GP-Cloud). GP-Probe
conducts GNSS signal measurements on 3 channels with angle-of-arrival estimation and transmits raw data to the
GP-Cloud for real-time processing. GP-Cloud use anomaly detection algorithms to determine the nonlinearities in
the RF signals.

The end goal is not about detecting the presence of spoofing, but to localize the source.

Highlights
 GP-Cloud based on Machine Learning Techniques for Anomaly Detection with powerful API
 The system is designed to detect any types of spoofing\jamming or other anomalies of the navigation field,
resulting in coordinates\time accuracy degradation
 The system is suitable for stationary and moving objects
 The system estimates the spoofing source location

With GPS Patron technologies you are able to control all your time\coordinates critical infrastructure. Install GP-
Probe on your time\coordinates critical infrastructure and fully control it in one web interface.

It’s an ideal solution:

 For time-critical applications like DVB-T, Bank Processing Centre, power grid systems, cellular
communication networks.
 For mobile application monitoring, like a self-driving car.
GP-Probe

GP-Probe measures the parameters of satellites radio signals from 3 channels and transmit the following
information to the GP Cloud in real time: RF signal angle-of-arrival, pseudoranges, SNR, ephemerides, etc.

Features
 Form factor: 19 Inch Rack Half-Size
 Power supply: 110 – 220 AC or 12 – 72 DC
 RS-422\485 and RS232 for external devices remote control. GP-Cloud can send a remote control commands
to the switchs and etc.
 External 1 PPS input for PNT health checking. GP-Probe meas time difference between internal and external
1 PPS.
 Three channels with support of GPS/QZSS L1 C/A, GLONASS L10F BeiDou B1I, Galileo E1B/C SBAS L1 C/A:
WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN
 First RF channel supports connection to a rupture of an existing PNT server antenna. That allow to reduce
the cost of installation.
 Active\passive antennae support
 GMS\UMTS modem and 100BASE-TX Ethernet for data transferring to the GP-Cloud
 Web interface for configuration
 Firmware auto-update engine

1 PPS input on the GP-Probe is used for external PNT Server time reference health check. The GP-Probe
subsequently compares the external and internal 1PPS. In the case of a major mismatch, the probe will send an
alarm to the GP-Cloud.

The GP-Probe is also able to function like a GNSS receiver where it determines the time and coordinates which have
been sent via the NMEA-0183 protocol through the RS-232, 422\485 outputs.

The GP-Probe has a built-in inertial navigation system to determine coordinates where the GNSS signals are
spoofed. This is a great feature for mobile applications. Inertial navigation system consists of accelerometer,
compass, gyroscope, wheel sensor.

We can customize an existing hardware solution to suit your requirements:

- IP-67 protection
- custom power requirements radio-links
GP CLOUD

The GP-Cloud web user interface allows you to view all the time/coordinates critical infrastructure health in real
time. It has a powerful spoofing detection algorithms that allow you to take the necessary actions to localize the
source of interference in a timely manner.

The system is designed to detect any types of spoofing\jamming or other anomalies of the navigation field, resulting
in coordinates\time accuracy degradation

Features
 A map with all probes location and health status: time and coordinates accuracy, interference
 All system status indicators
 Events log
 Spoofing source localization
 Powerful API for integration
 SMS and email notifications
