How you doin'?

Quick question...

Do you value your email messages? If so, then you


probably want ALL of them to land in the inbox.

In EMFT I told you to think of your emails like


direct mail. And I explained the importance of
filtering your emails into the A-Pile (inbox) of
email subscribers.

If you don't then chances are (no matter how much


value you pack in them emails) ain't nobody gonna
see 'em.

Right?

The big problem is often (much more than you'd


think) email subs WANT to read your emails.

They just never look in their junk folders.

Which means, your emails get deleted.

THE SOLUTION
==============

Got to admit this gonna take work.

What you do is make a list of the major email


providers. You know... Yahoo, AOL, GMail, etc.

Then you Google this phrase...

"how to whitelist in [name of email provider]"

So it would read like...


"how to whitelist in yahoo"

And so on and so forth. Then go to the web page


explaining how to whitelist for each email
provider.

Copy the instructions in a word doc type file.

Turn that word doc into a PDF... AND... SEND IT


to each and every new email sub on your list.

In fact, this email should be the first one in


any follow up series.

When ever a new sub gets on your list they get a


welcome email with instructions to download the
PDF report, find their email provider and follow
the instructions to whitelist your email address.

(BTW... I've since created this report and I'll


tell you how to get it. So you don't break out
in hives trying to find all them whitelisting
instructions. Ain't I nice?)

Beat the spam filters
Hey, it's John...

With a quick way to make sure your


emails pass the spam test.

Like you already know, if your emails


don't beat the spam filters they'll
never be seen.

So here's what I do:

1) Avoid words in emails about making


dough... dropping pounds... or IM.

You must use a thesaurus to replace


obvious spammy copy with other words
the spam filters don't look at.

Quick story: I wrote an email once about


a doctor whose first name was R*CH (replace
the asterisk with "I") and this email was
tagged as spam.

I rewrote it and called him Dr. R. Last Name.

Yup, those are some of the issues you'll


face thanks to idiot marketers who flood
inboxes with crap.

Onward...

2) Use Aweber's spam checker tool.

It's awesome.

Before I send out any emails I look at the


spam score for that email.

Anything up to a score of 5 is supposed to


be good.

I'm not so sure.

Due to my "anal retentiveness" I try for a


score of ZERO.

Any words that get tagged as possible spam


get changed pronto. Again, I refer to my
trusty thesaurus to keep me clean.

3) If you don't use Aweber then go to Google


and type in "online spam checker" or words
to that effect.

Use one of the complimentary tools to check


your emails before sending them out.

A little inconvenient?

Maybe.

But it sure as hell beats getting dumped in


the junk folder.
