WHAT IS AN ACCREDITED MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM?
• A management system that has been implemented in accordance with a
Standard (ISO, AS or ASNZ)
• A management system that has been certified by a third-party
certification body or is otherwise recognised
• The organisation that is certified to a standard is deemed to be accredited
• Accredited organisations are regularly reviewed by the third party to review
the system and ensure compliance to the system and the Standard.
• Certification does not in any way assure compliance with legal requirement or
other obligations place upon an organisation or statutory body.

The level of detail required for a WHS management plan will depend on
how complex the workplace is (in particular, the number of contractors at
the workplace at any one time) and the risks involved in the work.

OHS CO-ORDINATION PLANS
A principal contractor for a construction project must –
(a) Prepare a health and safety co-ordination plan, in accordance with Reg 336,
for construction work before that work commences, and
(b) Monitor, maintain and keep the plan up to date for the duration of the
construction work

• Must be a written plan


• Must be prepared by the principal contractor
• Before a project commences
• Should be easily understood by workers (including contractors and subbies)
• To ensure the required processes are in place to manage the risks associated
with a complex construction project
