Passap Adjustable Form Sock Pattern

Form program for an adjustable sock (Passap Duo80 and E6000)

This program is based on sock 2929 in Passap model book 37. It is similar in construction to the sock in the
Duo80 manual, where detailed instructions are given.

I have annotated the Form codes and indicated in red where you can alter the number of cast on stitches, the
number of stitches at the ankle, the rows of ribbing, the length of the leg in cm, the number of rows for the
foot. You can alter the other parameters too but not as a beginner! See the explanation of Form codes at
bikibirdknits.com.

I assume that you do not want to knit a gauge square for your socks, but rather that you know your preferred
number of stitches around your foot and number of rows for your instep, and will alter accordingly. You can
however enter your own gauge on rows 3 and 4 per usual if you would like (for example, if you are knitting a
mosaic or tuck sock with an unusual gauge). You can also knit the leg only at an alternative gauge (say a fair
isle leg on an otherwise plain sock) by entering mm for 40 rows at line 14 and 17 and mm for 40 sts at line 15
and 18 (if you do this though I would air knit first to make sure nothing funny happens).

Notes on knitting
(numbers refer to flashing figures on Form Computer or REFER message on console).
As given the sock is for a size 38-39 European foot.

Flash 1 (CAST ON): Tubular cast on DOUBLE the number of stitches indicated by the console or Form computer.
Knit in 1:1 rib (Duo80: N/N; E6000: cast on 1, KT 101, locks N/LX).

Flash 2 (TRANSFER STITCHES): Transfer all the rib stitches to the back bed. Unravel ¼ of the stitches on the
right (16 stitches if you are knitting with 64 stitches around). Using a decker comb, transfer those stitches to
the front bed (by folding the comb inwards to the centre of the bed). Similarly, transfer ¼ of the stitches on the
left. Now you have 32 stitches on each bed and are ready to knit tubular (Duo80: CX/CX; E6000: CX/LX, KT
107). E6000 knitters remember to put excess front pushers in the rail.

Flash 7 (REFER 7): Short row heel. Duo80 knitters: bring up pushers on front bed under stitches, and set the
locks at GX/BX. For E6000, set locks at GX/LX, KT 100. Decrease as given (each decrease means bringing a
pusher to rest position at the side opposite the lock). Then, increase as given by bringing a pusher into work on
the lock side for each increase.

Flash 8 (REFER 8): Put all pushers in the rail (Duo80) or back bed pushers in the rail (E6000). Now set locks to
knit tubular (Duo80: CX/CX; E6000 CX/LX, KT 107), knit the foot, and then and decrease each side, both beds, as
instructed.
