Submit Your Final Action Plan

Now you are going to put together your Final Action Plan from all of the work you’ve done in this course, Creating
and Implementing Online Courses. You have worked through each of the stages in the ADDIE model: Analyze,
Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate to plan your own online course. In your Final Action Plan you will reflect
on the stages of the ADDIE model, choose an example of your best work, and explain your next steps. Completing
this action plan will help you in the future when you create and implement online courses.

Your Final Action Plan has three parts:

1.      Reflecting on the stages of the ADDIE model
2.      Choosing your best work
3.      Explaining your next steps

Answer each of the following questions to complete the three parts of your plan.

Part 1: Reflecting on the Stages of the ADDIE Model

For this first part of your Final Action Plan, reflect on all that you have learned since you began the course.
Give a detailed description of the most important lessons you learned and how they will help you in your teaching
context.

1. Think about what you did in the Analyze stage of the ADDIE model in Module 1. Write a description of
the most important lesson you learned in this module and how it will help you in your teaching context.
Write 2-3 sentences.
In Module 1, the important lesson that I learned is, how to know the learner’s story and write your
SMART objectives according to the needs of your learners. In my teaching context, I will use SMART
criteria to write my course objectives which will reflect my learner’s needs.

2. Think about what you did in the Design stage of the ADDIE model in Modules 2-4. Write a description of
the most important lesson you learned in these modules and how it will help you in your teaching
context. Write 2-3 sentences.
In Modules 2-4, I learned several things like how to create a course outline, what learning assets are
and their importance, module framework, the difference between synchronous and asynchronous
learning assets, and a hybrid module framework, I will make sure in creating my hybrid module
framework, I will use appropriate activities for my synchronous and asynchronous learning assets.
Learning about creating a course outline will help me in creating an effective course outline and the
things that will be included in the course outline like a description of the course, SMART objectives and
schedule of modules and time frame, etc.,

3. Think about what you did in the Develop stage of the ADDIE model in Modules 5-6. Write a description of
the most important lesson you learned in these modules and how it will help you in your teaching
context. Write 2-3 sentences.

In Modules 5-6, the most important lesson that I learned is how to create the formative assessment from your
summative assessment. In Module 6, the important lesson I learned was using the 10 Multimedia principles for
developing online learning assets. These 10 multimedia principles will help me to develop an effective video
script learning asset for my learners.

4. Think about what you did in the Implement stage of the ADDIE model in Module 7. Write a description of
the most important lesson you learned in this module and how it will help you in your teaching context.
Write 2-3 sentences.
In Module 7, the important lesson I learned is implementing online tools by using the BRIDGE checklist. The
BRIDGE checklist will help me to implement online tools that will be effective to use it in my online course.

5. Think about what you did in the Evaluate stage of the ADDIE model in Module 8. Write a description of
the most important lesson you learned in this module and how it will help you in your teaching context.
Write 2-3 sentences.
In Module 8, the important lesson I learned is how to evaluate your learners by using different strategies like
surveys, achievement rates, completion rates, and assessments. I will make sure in my teaching strategies that
how to evaluate my learners by using the achievement rate of my learners.

Part 2: Choosing Your Best Work

Step 1: Choose your best work. For the next part of your Final Action Plan, choose 1 of the following to show as an
example of your best work:

 Course Outline
 Hybrid Module Framework
 Formative Assessments
 Learning Asset - Video Script

Copy and paste your example of your best work at the end of the document or upload the file in your
submission.

Step 2: Answer the reflection questions about the example you have selected. For this example of your best work
answer the following reflection questions. Write at least 4-6 sentences:

 Why did you choose the example as your "best work”?

 Who will you share this example with? What will you tell them about it?
I choose the Hybrid module framework as my best work because it shows how well I create my learning assets
and organize my overall course. I learned the difference between synchronous and asynchronous learning assets
and how to put all the activities appropriately synchronously or asynchronously. The best part of this work is I
am able to design a strong framework and made good use of synchronous time to increase student interaction,
and collaboration especially for listening, speaking, and pronunciation. I will share this work with my peers and
colleagues and some other friends who are interested in implementing online courses. I will tell them about this
work that what is hybrid module framework and the idea of using synchronous and asynchronous learning
assets and how to organize them appropriately.

Part 3: Explaining Your Next Steps

For the last part of your Final Action Plan, think about what you have done in each stage of the ADDIE model to
create and implement your online course. Now, it is time to explain what your next steps will be to finish creating
your online course so that you are ready to implement it. Look at the Creating a Final Action Plan reading and
Sarah’s Final Action Plan example to help you with Part 3.

Write your answers to the following questions about your next steps.

1. For the Analyze stage, what are the next 2 steps you will take? When will you take these steps? Will you
work by yourself or will you work with someone else? Write 3-5 sentences.

2
In analyze stage I will revise my need analysis and will ask the learners if they have some other difficulty
with topics that can be added to the online course. I will share the need analysis with the
administration and ask if they have any questions about implementing an online course. I will work
with my colleague and will exchange ideas with each other before implementing the course.

2. For the Design stage, what are the next 2 steps you will take? When will you take these steps? Will you
work by yourself or will you work with someone else? Write 3-5 sentences.
For my design stage, I will try to add some more activities and tasks for practicing speaking, writing, and
reading skills. I will try to add a vocabulary list for my learners to help them use it in creating writing.
Another important step I will like to add is grammar activity as focusing on grammar is much more
important. I will share the modules for designing a course with my colleague and will ask her if she
wants to add some points.

3. For the Develop stage, what are the next 2 steps you will take? When will you take these steps? Will you
work by yourself or will you work with someone else? Write 3-5 sentences.
In the developing stage, the next step I will take is doing practice with my learners to practice the work they
learned before giving the assessment. I will like to add some more questions to the formative assessment. And I
will create a summative assessment by taking help from the formative assessment. I will share this stage with
my colleague so that she can use it while teaching the course.

4. For the Implement stage, what are the next 2 steps you will take? When will you take these steps? Will
you work by yourself or will you work with someone else? Write 3-5 sentences.
In Implementing stage, the step that I will take next is to check my online tool that is it implemented according
to the BRIDGE checklist. I will share other online tools also to add to the online course that will be easy to use
for me as well as my learners. I will then check with my learners whether it is convenient for them to use that
tool or not and will ask them about the internet connection. I will use this tool by myself as every teacher will
use their own online tools that will be convenient for them. I will share the idea that how I use the tool.

5. For the Evaluate stage, what are the next 2 steps you will take? When will you take these steps? Will you
work by yourself or will you work with someone else? Write 3-5 sentences.
For my evaluation stage, I will prepare a survey form for my learners to get an idea that whether the course
benefits them or not. I will design two surveys for my course, one will be given in the middle of the course while
another at the end of the course. I will search for some other evaluation strategies to evaluate my course. I will
share it with my colleague and would like to add some of her ideas too and we both can use them.
