House keeping is to be maintained at high standard through out
the site at all times.
Waste materials should be disposed off efficiently.

authority.

Avoid hot works on site where practicable.

Task Specific risk assessment and control measures must be
carried out where appropriate e.g welding operations.
All operatives are aware they must be using the correct tool for
the correct job and correct application.

Battery powered and manual tools will be used where possible.

If a tool becomes damaged it must be reported to site supervisor

Operatives must ensure that their hands and fingers are always
protected by wearing safety gloves and glasses, as appropriate to
the task.
Tools must be secured when carrying.
COSHH material to be stored in designated area- ensure no
incompatible materials are held together.

Fire extinguishers to be available on site for various applications

Grinding/Welding to be kept to a minimum on site, and managed


via hot works permit system.

Electrical equipment to be disconnected and removed after

not practical, only 220 V mains will be permitted.
All machinery to be operated only by trained and competent
operatives.
When not in use, engines to be turned off, brakes applied and

All plant movements to be carried out with use of signaller.
The contractor will keep accident book and report any accidents
to Principal contractor for review.

First Aider Responder will be designated on site at all times-
communicated via notice boards/induction.
Principal contractor is responsible for the provision and
maintenance of welfare and sanitary facilities- these must be
cleaned to sufficient.
