TO SECTION 1
SERVICE INFORMATION
1.1 Preface
General information
Annex must be attached to the FOM of the Mi-8 helicopter (Edition 4) when the on-board recorder СДК-
8 is installed on the helicopter. When flying on the Mi-8 helicopter with an installed СДК -8, be guided
by the flight manual of the Mi-8 helicopter and this Annex, which reflects a brief description of the
installed equipment (as opposed to the serial number) and features of its flight operation.
In terms of general flight restrictions, flight characteristics, tactical and technical data and fuel
consumption characteristics, the Mi-8 helicopter with the installed СДК-8 does not differ from the serial
Mi-8 helicopter.
Chapters and their subsections of Annex correspond to the Chapters and subsections of the FOM.
In connection with the installation on the СДК-8 helicopter, a new subsection 7.21.4 was added to
Chapter 7 in the Annex.

TO SECTION 3
Calculate the flight in accordance with the instructions of subsection 3.1 of the FOM of the Mi-8
helicopter.
The installed СДК-8 does not deteriorate the characteristics of the base helicopter, including the limiting
alignments do not go beyond the established limits.
General instructions
Technical preparation of the helicopter shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of
subsection 3.2 of the FOM of the Mi-8 helicopter, taking into account the specifics of preparation of the
СДК-8 installed on the helicopter, set forth in Chapter 7 of this Annex.

TO SECTION 7
The onboard digital system for registering flight parameters СДК-8 is designed to receive, register and
store parametric information in a solid-state storage device, as well as to issue this information to a
ground-based system for processing useful information.
-heat-protective container;
-signal sensors
The processing of the accumulated information is carried out by a ground subsystem based on a
personal computer for the purpose of the technical condition of individual systems of the helicopter and
its equipment, control over the actions of the crew during the execution of the flight mission and
objective determination of the causes of accidents and incidents.

Fire (general)
The recorder is powered by a constant current of 27V from the battery bus. The power supply circuit is
protected through the circuit breaker of the СДК.
The system is switched on by the helicopter commander or, at his command, by the flight mechanic
after turning on the power supply in preparation for starting the engines, and turning it off after the
engines have completely stopped.
Note! Until the completion of work to confirm the fulfillment of the requirements for emergency
recorders, it is allowed to use the СДК -8 on Mi-8 helicopters and their modifications that do not
perform regular commercial transportation.
With positive results of work confirming the fulfillment of the requirements for emergency recorders on
civil aviation helicopters by the СДК -8 system, allow the Mi-8 helicopters and their modifications
equipped with the СДК -8 system for regular commercial transportation.

7.21.4.2. Lighting up and operation
For manual activation there is a switch САРПП РУЧН-АВТ, which is installed on the right sideplate of the
upper electropanel. The recording unit is automatically activated despite of switch position САРПП
РУЧН-АВТ.
The recorder is automatically activated when main and backup hydraulic system is pressured. It is
duplicated when limit switch is activated on the left shock absorber strut of the main landing gear after
flying-off. On the ground, there is no pressure on the main and backup hydraulic systems it is necessary
to set switch САРПП РУЧН-АВТ to position РУЧН for an electric supply of the registration unit.
Note! While flying automatic and manual activation of the recorder should be duplicated, consequently
switch РУЧН-АВТ must be in position РУЧН for the rest of the flight.
Proper functioning of the system is monitored in accordance to the flashing board САРПП, which is
green. It is situated on the right sideplate of the upper electropanel.

7.21.4.3. Performance data
The operation of the recorder is maintained at an outside air temperature from minus 60 to 60 ̊C
Preservation of the recorded information is provided at a single impact with an acceleration of 3400g.
Note! The engine start and helicopter flights are prohibited when the recording unit does not function
properly.
