SAP Network Blog: New transaction types in SAP Solution Manager 7.

http://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/25463

The latest SAP CRM 7.0 IT Service Management processes will be integrated into the next SAP Solution Manager release 7.1. Before the new release of SAP Solution Manager, IT Service Management was supported by SAP CRM and Application Lifecycle Management was supported by SAP Solution Manager. The SAP IT Service Management functions have been developed on new object types, so it was necessary to introduce some new transaction types for Incident Management and Change Request Management. UIs are upgraded from SAP GUI to SAP CRM Web UI. The former SLFN based documents cannot be displayed or processed in the SAP WebClient. You can process existing tickets based on 7.0 transaction types within the Work Center UI or SAP GUI, until they are closed. New transaction types are only available to be created and processed using the WEB UI. SAP IT Service Management brings to SAP Solution Manager 7.1 a new transaction type to register a Problem in Problem Management, which can be assigned to Incidents, a new transaction type to register Test Defects assigned to test cases, and a General Change transaction type that can be used for instance to register a non-system related change or a non-SAP system change. The new transaction type of Change Request document (now called Request for Change) will support multiple change documents. The SAP IT Service Management will also be integrated to other ALM-processes such as Quality Gate Management and Business Process Change Analyzer. These two ALM-processes will also have a correspondent transaction type. I am currently participating in the ramp-up and testing SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP01. Below you can see a list of transaction types that I could get from SAP Solution Manager 7.0 versus SAP Solution Manager 7.1:

SAP Solution Manager 7.1 is planned to be available for all customers by the end of August 2011.
