This course is a study of major Philippine religions including Roman Catholicism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Animism, and various cults. Over the course of the semester, students will learn about the history, doctrines, beliefs, and practices of each religion. They will also examine approaches for effectively witnessing to people of other faiths. The goal is for students to understand and compare Philippine religions, and to feel more confident presenting the gospel in a culturally sensitive manner. Learning activities include discussions, presentations, and assessments of students' knowledge of the various religions.

Course Title: Major Philippine Religions
Course Code: MPR 201
This course is a study of the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church and other major religious groups in the Philippines. Students will study workable approaches in
Course Description: witnessing to people who are members of false cults or who are under their influence
Course Credit: 3 Units
Course Prerequisite: None
At the end of the course the students should be able to:
1. Articulate and live out central doctrines of the faith
2. Be acquainted with the history of Philippine religions and cults
Course Learning Outcomes: 3. Understand the basic tenets of Philippine religions and cults
4. Examine and compare basic knowledge of Philippine religions and cults to help more effectively present the gospel to anyone from these groups
5. Be more confident to present the gospel to people belonging to these religious groups
