Method of statement for

Materials Shifting, Storage and Barricading

• Purpose

The purpose of this method of statement is unloading of portacabin using by crane, materials
shifting and storage, Barricading the area using by PVC barrier and warning tape.

• Scope

The scope of work includes porta cabin for offices and storage container unloading,
materials shifting and storage.
• Reference

• Qatar construction specification (QCS)

• Definitions

o Project : Build Lay Down area at MIC Land


o Contract No : 602020
o Client/company : DicoTech Qatar WLL

• Responsibilities

 Site supervisor
o Site Supervisor shall ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the JSA &
Method Statement.
o Site supervisor shall ensure that the work is covered with valid work permits and
necessary documents from MIC and all permit / safety requirements strictly followed.
o Conduct daily toolbox talk as and whenever is required and explain the risk associated
with the work and the precautions to be taken.

o The Site Engineer/Supervisor shall be responsible and fully aware of the daily work
program and shall ensure that he attends all inspection points in a timely manner and
records the results of his inspections correctly on the appropriate forms and to follow-up
appropriate corrective preventive actions (if applicable). He is also responsible for the co-
ordination with Client for the close-out of Report for inspection.

o The Supervisor/Engineer shall ensure that all activities that are required to be inspected.
Representative and approved.

 The safety officers


o All necessary PPE shall be provided and worn by Project personnel.
o The safety officer shall ensure that the work is covered with valid work permits from MIC
wherever applicable and all permits and safety requirements strictly followed.
o The Safety officer shall ensure that tool box meetings are carried at all work location as
per HSE plan to encourage the labor to work in safe environment.
o The safety officer shall ensure that work location is fully barricaded with installing safety
signs
o To stop any unsafe act or condition and report to HSE engineer and construction /site
supervisor.

• Work procedure

Materials Shifting, unloading, storage and Barricading

 Site Survey and mark the area as per co-ordinates given MIC
 Permit and all relevant documents should be at site prior to start the job
 Unloading of Porta cabin and steel storage container as per Lifting plan and permit
 Materials unloading and storage in proper way
 All chemical types materials MSDS should present at site
 Barricade the MIC approved land using by PVC barrier and warning tape

 Chemical materials should be stored as per MSDS/


 All tools will be kept in proper manner inside storage container
 Unloading of concrete blocks and keep in proper manner
 All necessary precaution shall be taken by site supervisor
Waste Management

• All waste shall be disposed to approved designated dumping area.


• While Loading & unloading the waste material, Activity can generate amounts of
excess dust so this can be controlled by spraying the water.
• Safety

 Before starting any work, this checklist shall be followed by safety officer as per
requirement:
 Prior to commencement of any work on site, the site should be inspected and approved
by the Site Authorities or their representatives.
 All necessary PPE shall be provided and worn by working personnel
 Emergency Response Procedures shall be explained to the workers to make them aware
of the procedure when emergency situation arises.
 All access / exit points to work areas shall be maintained free from obstacles, materials
and equipment.
 Barricades with PVC Road Barrier, sign boards must be present at the work site.
 Contractor shall maintain good housekeeping at all the times.
