Public Speaking Text 2023
keeper and all my fellow friends. Today, on this fine morning , I would like to
present to you a public speech about “ Let’s Go Green”.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me start the speech by defining about “going
green”. What is meant by going green? Going green can be defined as
"environmentally friendly decisions to "reduce, reuse and recycle. It means
becoming more environmentally aware and changing our behavior and
lifestyle to reduce the amount of pollution and waste we generate.
As we all can see, our environment is deteriorating ; global warming,
deforestation, water pollution and food shortages are all contributing to the
world's environmental crisis.
This is why going green has become so important, and it actually has
lots of benefits. Green living helps in making the entire planet sustainable and
habitable. It’s more about conserving the environment from air pollution, water
pollution, global warming, and much more.
There are a lot of ways to go green. The concept of going green is all
about practicing and learning an eco-friendly lifestyle that will help protect the
environment and conserve natural resources, biodiversity, and habitats.
Another way to go green is Reduce and Reuse. We can use the same
item over again. For example, if we have a shirt that is ripped in two places,
don't throw it out. Instead, get some sewing supplies and sew them together
again. We may even be able to sell or give away the repaired shirt.
We should buy fewer things overall and reuse what we have already
bought. This includes avoiding disposable products as much as possible—try
using cloth napkins instead of paper ones for meals; avoid buying plastic
straws when eating out; bring our own reusable water bottle to school instead
of buying plastic bottles at lunchtime; etc. If we all try our best to reduce our
waste, there will be less waste for everyone else to deal with later on down
the line.
Last but not least, we should reduce our energy consumption. To
reduce energy consumption in your home and increase your energy savings,
we do not necessarily need to go out and purchase energy-efficient products.
Energy conservation can be as simple as turning off lights or appliances when
we do not need them. We can also use energy-intensive appliances less by
performing household tasks manually, such as hang-drying your clothes
instead of putting them in the dryer or washing dishes by hand
The environment is in a crisis, but it's not too late to make a difference.
There are many other ways we can get involved and help out with these
problems. Going green doesn't just benefit the planet—it also helps us all
save money, time and resources so that we can enjoy life more fully while
making sure future generations have access to clean air and water too.
