V. OBJECTIVES
General:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Training aims to provide the competency for the
initial Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Training aims to empower our
health care workers with the necessary skills and knowledge required to
recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies promptly and effectively. ACLS-
trained staff can significantly increase the chances of positive patient outcomes.
The timely administration of appropriate interventions, including high-quality CPR,
defibrillation, and medication administration, can save lives and minimize long-
term complications. In support to all ACLS initiatives, the following policies were
issued: (1) Department Circular (DC) 2018-0131 “Revised Licensing Assessment
Tools for Hospitals” which indicates the list of personnel who are required to have
undergone ACLS training; (2) Administrative Order (AO) 2004-155 “Implementing
Guidelines for Managing Mass Casualty Incidents during Emergencies and
Disasters” prescribing ACLS Training as mandatory for all medical personnel
assigned in the Emergency Rooms; and (3) DC 2019-0277 “Moratorium for the
Implementation of Minimum Qualifications and Training Requirements for Type 1
and Type 2 Ambulances” which requires ACLS as a minimum competency
requirement for Type 2 Ambulance personnel. -19 Pandemic” were issued.

VII. METHODOLOGY:
This project shall be implemented in two batches, August 9-11, 2023 and
August 16-18, 2023 respectively with 27 participants per batch. Nurses will be
prioritized in the training.
