What’s new?
You will already be very familiar with the app as a lot of features from your TC are in the personal
device version!
How can I scan with my own device? You will see a barcode icon near the bottom of the app –
use this button to scan. It will use your phones camera to scan the barcode!
Where are the tabs I’m used to at the top? The Incomplete/Completed, and Item/Price tabs are
now at the bottom just beneath the barcode scan icon
Where is the menu key for more options? These are now at the top, some have an icon, some
just list what they are:
o The home icon will bring you back to the home screen
o The trash icon is how you can delete tasks
o The paper icon is how you can view criteria again
Tips and Best Practices –
The RetailData app uses very little data on your phone, downloading and transmitting are the
two biggest data usages
o Connect to Wi-Fi to avoid using your phone data plan as needed
The RetailData app uses very little storage on your phone. If you do have storage issues try
o Removing any old apps or photos you no longer need
o Go to Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage to see your current storage and you can
unload any unnecessary apps, etc.
To lengthen your battery life you can use these tips:
o Charge your phone before starting each day
o Do not use Bluetooth accessories to talk or listen to music/podcasts during collections
Go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> you can either turn off Bluetooth or disconnect
any devices
o Reduce the brightness on your screen
Go to Settings -> Display & Brightness -> you can adjust the brightness
o Use your phones low power mode setting
Go to Settings -> Battery -> turn on Low Power Mode
o Charge your phone between store visits
o Use a portable phone charger
These will quickly recharge your device while out in the field
Amazon has several version available, you can use your RetailData recognition
for an Amazon gift card!
o Turn off notifications for non-essential apps
Go to Settings -> Notifications -> you can individually manage notifications
o Turn off background app refreshing
Go to Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh -> turn off
