A. The cooling tower fill shall be Brentwood’s High Efficiency CF1200. The tower shall be designed to allow for bottom-supported fill only; no hanging sheets or packs shall be accepted, and no substitutions shall be allowed. 1. The nominal sheet spacing shall be 0.46” (12 mm). The sheet shall not be allowed to have noticeable holes, rips, or tears. a). The sheets shall be made from UV-protected: (1). Rigid PVC, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD-136. (2). Rigid heat-modified PVC, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD-136 with increased resistance to high temperatures. (3). EcoChoice™ PVC – 100% recycled content, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD-136. (4). Anti-Microbial AccuShield® PVC, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD-136. (5). EcoChoice™ and AccuShield® PVC, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD-136. (6). Polyolefin, meeting industry standard material specification Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) STD- 136. b). The sheets shall be available with a nominal after-forming gauge, as measured by CTI STD-136: (1). 8 mil (2). 10 mil (3). 15 mil (4). User-specified gauge in mil B. The fill packs are to be made up of sheets, oriented to form a cross-fluted pack. The packs shall have air travel depth of 11.81” (300 mm) and must have bevel drainage tips. 1. The packs will be assembled using: a). Mechanical assembly (MA) of the sheets at a finite number of contact points; no glues or solvents may be used. Heat welding of sheets shall not be allowed. b). Solvent welding of the sheets at a finite number of contact points; no secondary substances (glues, hot melts, etc.) may be used to bond the sheets. Heat welding of sheets shall not be allowed. C. The following shall be provided at submittal: 1. Thermal testing data 2. Pressure drop testing data 3. Crush test data 4. Material property data for the parts being provided to the project (provided at time of manufacturing) D. Manufacturing Reliability 1. Manufacturer shall have redundant manufacturing capabilities to reduce supply risk 2. Manufacturer shall have redundant tooling capabilities to reduce supply risk 3.
