PURPOSE OF STUDY

Online car booking (ride booking) is rising day by day people wants an application which
provide convenient and secure way to commute within city in this research paper we are doing
comparative study of two only ride booking mobile applications in both applications user can
request a ride on a ride-sharing app instantly, through an internet enabled smartphone device,
with just the click of a button.as we are comparing AIRLIFT and CAREEM both applications are
very different.CAREEM is car booking (cab) mobile application whereas AIRLIFT is smart bus
service which operates on fixed routes . Smart bus service is less expensive than cab services
because such companies employ individual contracted drivers who use their personal cars, while
being insured by the company they are working for. Naturally, since one has to share personal
data with the application and with drivers while calling a cab, including name, location, and
phone number, the handling of real-time data, concerns regarding privacy, have been raised. The
regulation of such services is a primary concern, particularly when background checks
concerning the drivers working for such companies, and the rating system customers can use to
evaluate their experiences with the drivers has direct impact on their earning potential.
Moreover, it is important to effectively gauge the privacy policies these companies espouse. It is
the aim of this study to assess the practices, governance, and user experiences of these services in
Pakistan to answer key questions as to the rights of citizens, especially with a view to the
enhanced vulnerability of women and minorities. In the absence of personal data protection
legislation, what are the implications of the data collected, utilized, and stored by these
companies? Is the average user, be it a driver or a rider, aware of the security policies of the
companies, be they digital policies or otherwise? Do women experience these services
differently than men?

PARTICIPANTS:

The participants involved are the user who are booking ride and the driver (captain) who are
driving car or bus. A user simply install application on their mobile phone .and driver can
register as a captain if he or she have to be over 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license to
drive with Careem. The screening process may include drug tests, police reports, credit checks

etc. After reviewing your application they will invite you for a training session. When training is

FOR BOOKING.

You can make bookings with bus-owners by pressing the bookings button on the Airlift
Application. You may choose to review the terms and conditions of such bookings by pressing
the terms and conditions button on the Airlift Application.

RESULT
From the survey we can conclude that careem is better transport service.Although this services
are relatively new in Pakistan, they are sure to reduce public transport and mark the end of
traditional taxi and rent-a-car business. As smartphone penetration increases, taxi and rickshaw
drivers that struggle to adopt new technologies may find themselves in trouble. This is due to the
fact that companies have become immensely popular in such a short time and are widely used by
young, employed people who are most likely to be smartphone users. It appears that companies
are focusing more and more on this demographic, in the hope of positive experiences and
reviews that translate to rapid growth in the near future.

RECOMMENDATION

CAREEM

The biggest problem with Careem o services at the moment is that there are no network effects.

Find FREE rides and discounts:

The idea is slightl1y complex but it can certainly be refined further with some brainstorming. The
app should feature a button called “Find discounts and FREE rides”

Turning customers into merchants:

pg. 10
Create an effective method by limiting the supply of coupons or vouchers.. Alternatively Careem
can have booking agents that will book a ride for you and earn a commission for booking a
successful ride.

Hey, I reached safely!

The app should have one extra screen with the title of safety or something along those lines.
Inspite the prevalence of taxi and ride sharing apps people are conscious about how safe an app
based car service is. To counter this, the app can feature a safety screen that saves 1 or 2 numbers
of emergency contacts.

Airlift

The map integration and vehicle tracking are spot on, the USER INTERFACE is not as friendly
as it should be.

There is no listing of all the routes operated by Airlift and at times, search results will not show
all of the available routes. Moreover, search results are not sorted by order of time, and cannot be
sorted by distance to pick-up point.

There is also no route map to pick and choose from, which should be a necessity for any public
transport network. The app currently does not allow bookings for an entire week or month either.

Airlift currently does not run on weekends
