Learning Outcomes

The document summarizes the key learning outcomes from a course on online education strategies. It discusses that time management was the most useful strategy learned and will be applied to future studies through organizing a study schedule and addressing procrastination. The most surprising aspect was peer assessment, as it was a new concept, but the student now feels more comfortable with it after learning about its benefits, such as obtaining new perspectives and improving knowledge through critiquing peers' work.

Learning Outcomes

Throughout the term, I have learned a lot at the University of The People. I have also

tried to learn and use critical tactics for reading, studying, APA citations and references, time

management, stress management, and test management. Therefore, through my last journal

this term, I want to reflect on the different things I have learned over the term.

1. What was the most useful strategy you learned during this course? How will you

apply this strategy in your future studies here at UoPeople?

Time management is a very useful strategy that I have learned during this term. I use

a time management strategy as an appliance due to it is able to organize my study

schedule, and the time management strategy is powerful to utilize in order to prevent

students from procrastinating. Proper time management can reduce procrastination by

addressing time-management issues that contribute to procrastination (e.g., failure to

prioritize work) as well as other issues that contribute to procrastination (e.g., inability

to regulate emotions) (Shatz, 2023). Therefore, time management provided enormous

advantages such as increased academic performance, reduced stress levels, excellent

learning, etc.

2. What was the most surprising thing you learned this term? Why did it surprise

you?

The peer assessment has surprised me the most this term due to I had never heard of it

in my previous studies.

3. Peer assessment is a unique education model. Think back to how you felt about

peer assessment at the beginning of the term, and compare that to your feelings

now. How have your feelings changed? Are you more comfortable with peer

assessment? Have you learned something new while assessing your peer’s work?
3

The very first time I heard about peer assessment, I felt a little bit nervous about it.

However, I feel more comfortable with peer assessment at this time due to it provides

many benefits to students to improve academic performance. Peer performance helps

students think from different perspectives; thus, through it, the students are expected

to be able to obtain new insights. Peer assessment enables students to critically engage

with the tested subject, compare and contrast their peers' performance, and uncover

gaps or inaccuracies in their own knowledge (Topping 1998).
