1. USED TO + V: ĐÃ TỪNG

1.1. Diễn tả một thói quen trong quá khứ.

- Cấu trúc: Used to + V diễn tả một thói quen, một hành động thường xuyên xảy ra trong quá khứ mà
bây giờ không còn nữa.

- Ví dụ: We used to live there when I was a child.

(Chúng tôi đã từng sống ở đó khi tôi còn là một đứa trẻ.)

1.2. Diễn tả trạng thái trong quá khứ

- Cấu trúc: Used to + V còn thể hiện một tình trạng trong quá khứ nhưng bây giờ không tồn tại nữa
được thể hiện bằng một số động từ như: have, belive, know, like.
- Ví dụ: I used to like The Beatles but now I never listen to them.
(Tôi đã từng thích nhóm The Beatles nhưng bây giờ tôi không còn nghe nhạc của họ nữa.)

2. BE USED TO + VING / NOUN: ĐÃ QUEN VỚI

- Cấu trúc Be used to + Ving / N: Nghĩa là bạn đã từng làm việc gì đó rất nhiều lần hoặc đã có kinh
nghiệm với việc đó rồi, vì vậy nó không còn lạ lẫm, mới lạ hay khó khăn gì với bạn nữa)
- Ví dụ:
+ I am used to getting up early in the morning.
(Tôi đã quen với việc dậy sớm vào buổi sáng.)
+ I am not used to the new system in the factory yet.
(Tôi vẫn chưa quen với hệ thống mới ở nhà máy.)

3. GET USED TO + VING / NOUN: DẦN QUEN VỚI

- Get used to kết hợp với Ving hoặc cụm danh từ mang ý nghĩa: sự việc nào đó đang dần trở nên
quen thuộc với bạn.
- Ví dụ: She has started working nights and is still getting used to sleeping during the day.
(Cô ấy bắt đầu làm việc vào ban đêm và dần quen với việc ngủ suốt ngày.)
+ I got used to getting up early in the morning.
(Tôi đã quen dần với việc dậy sớm buổi sáng.)
