Today we will understand all types of tenses through examples and formulas, how these

tenses are used to make sentences, so let's understand tenses chart in English with examples.

In each tense at any stage of the verb. The sentence can take the affirmative form, or the negative
form, or the interrogative form, or even the interrogative-negative form.

One thing to note is that the tense is mainly identified by the user of the verb in a special way. The
part of the verb that can be very useful to us here consists of the main verb and the area of the
auxiliary (helping) verb.

The use of the main verb is mandatory in any stressed sentence. Then, a good study on 'conjugation
of verbs' or 'three forms of verbs' is sought. Its list is given at the end.

As far as auxiliary (helping) verbs are concerned, they are used in different tenses. Especially.
Auxiliary verbs mean to here, do, does, did, is, am, are, was, were, will, has, have, had, etc.

These are verbs in which the object is placed in an assertive sentence, and is placed in front of the
subject in a duly interrogative sentence.

There are mainly three types of Tense as given below.

We will explain all these tenses one by one with examples along with ‘Tenses Chart’ that will helpful
to understand that How to make sentences in simple way. Once you understood all these tenses,
there will be no difficulty to make sentences.

7. Present Perfect He has gone to market every day.

Each tense has basically 4 forms of tense and over all 12 sub forms of tense, now below we will
understand, how these all forms of tense is used to make sentence.

12 Basic Form of Tenses and Formula with Examples

1. Present Simple Tense

• Formula: Sub+V1+Obj

• Positive: Ram goes to school every day.

• Negative: Ram does not go to school every day.

• Interrogative: Does Ram go to school every day?

Examples

• I go to market.

• He plays cricket.

• He does not play cricket.

• She goes to market.

• We do not eat mango.

• Do they play cricket.

2. Past Simple Tense


• Formula: Sub+V2+Obj

• Positive: Ram went to school every day.

• Negative: Ram did not go to school every day.

• Interrogative: Did Ram go to school every day?

Examples

• I went to market.

• He played cricket.

• He did not play cricket.

• She went to market.

• We did not eat mango.

• Did they play cricket.

3. Future Simple Tense

• Formula: Sub+will+V1+Obj

• Positive: Ram will go to school every day.

• Negative: Ram will not go to school every day.

• Interrogative: Will Ram go to school every day?

Examples

• I will go to market.

• He will play cricket.

• He will not play cricket.

• She will go to market.

• We will not eat mango.

• Will they play cricket.

4. Present Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+am/is/are+V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram is going to school every day.

• Negative: Ram is not going to school every day.

• Interrogative: Is Ram going to school every day?

• I am going to market.

• He is playing cricket.

• He is not playing cricket.

• She is going to market.

• We are not eating mango.

• Are they playing cricket.

5. Past Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+was/were+V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram was going to school every day.

• Negative: Ram was not going to school every day.

• Interrogative: Was Ram going to school every day?

Examples

• I was going to market.

• He was playing cricket.

• He was not playing cricket.

• She was going to market.

• We were not eating mango.

• Were they playing cricket.

6. Future Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+will be+V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram will go to school every day.

• Negative: Ram will not go to school every day.

• Interrogative: Will Ram go to school every day?

Examples

• I will be going to market.

• He will be playing cricket.

• He will not be playing cricket.

• She will going to market.

• We will not be eating mango.


• Will they be playing cricket.

7. Present Perfect Tense

• Formula: Sub+have/has+V3+Obj

• Positive: Ram has gone to school.

• Negative: Ram has not gone to school.

• Interrogative: Has Ram gone to school?

Examples

• I have gone to market.

• He has played cricket.

• He has not played cricket.

• She has gone to market.

• We have eaten mango.

• Have they played cricket.

8. Past Perfect Tense

• Formula: Sub+had+V3+Obj

• Positive: Ram had gone to school.

• Negative: Ram had not gone to school.

• Interrogative: Had Ram gone to school?

• I had gone to market.

• He had played cricket.

• He had not played cricket.

• She had gone to market.

9. Future Perfect Tense

• Formula: Sub+will have+V3+Obj

• Positive: Ram will have gone to school.

10. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+have/has+been+V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram has been going to school.

• Negative: Ram has not been going to school.

• Interrogative: Has Ram been going to school?

11. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+had+been +V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram had been going to school.

• Negative: Ram had not been going to school.

• Question: Had Ram been going to school?

• He had not been playing cricket.

12. Future Perfect Continuous Tense

• Formula: Sub+will have+been+V1+Ing+Obj

• Positive: Ram will have been going to school.

• Negative: Ram will not have been going to school.

• Question: Will Ram have been going to school?

• He will not have been playing cricket.
