TOPIC 1: Many recent developments in technology, such as the

smartphone or tablet computer, have changed our lives. Write an


essay in which you discuss the effects of one recent technological
invention on society.
Throughout the long history of development/ advancement, human has created
many tremendous/great/incredible achievements in various fields such as
agriculture, education, medicine, and so on. In terms of technology, there have
been numerous/countless inventions that improved significantly/considerably
people’s quality of life. The smartphone, in particular/particularly/especially, is
regarded as one of the greatest/best successes since it provides users with plenty
of unexpected advantages/benefits in communication and entertainment.

Firstly, discussing communication, individuals mostly used mail, telegrams, and


landline telephone in the past. Particularly/Especially, long before these
items/inventions existed, humans would convey/send messages by using
pigeons and smoke signals to transmit/convey information.
However/Nevertheless, the way people interact has changed
significantly/considerably since the creation of the smartphone. Along with the
useful functions, it is effortless/easy to quickly contact other people because
users may make a phone call, send messages, or even send photographs, videos,
or documents with just one click.

Secondly, smartphones not only provide advantages/benefits in communication


but also in entertainment. There was no notion of online games before this
invention, which is now the most popular sector for youngsters/children. During
that period/time, young people/children would unwind/relax by hanging out
with friends, playing with toys, or classic games such as hide and seek, cards,
chess, and other similar activities. People used to have to own a phonograph and
discs if they wanted to listen to music, but now they can enjoy many songs with
just a phone.
TOPIC 2: What are the benefits of knowing a second language?
In today’s modern world, humans tend to equip themselves with more
knowledge and skills in order to be successful in their life. Therefore, learning a
second language is becoming increasingly popular among people of all ages.
Furthermore, proficiency in other languages may provide people with a variety
of unexpected/incredible benefits including getting/landing a dream job and
seeing/traveling the world.

Initially, in the extremely competitive job market, being good at other languages
is an important/crucial/significant advantage that gives/provides/supplies people
opportunities for their future careers. Many businesses are expanding their
market overseas, so they need someone who can work and communicate with
their foreign customers. A potential candidate with good language skills can be
useful in many fields such as media, healthcare, and customer service, among
others/and so on.

Besides having more chances of landing a dream job, knowing more than one
language may open doors for travelers to see the world. They can also easily
explore different/various cultures and learn new things. Moreover, by being part
of a community in other places and connecting with the local people, they might
broaden/expand their global perspective.
TOPIC 3: Describe a festival or celebration in your culture.
Discuss how it is celebrated and what it means to people
In human society, culture is regarded as a significant sector, and it is formed on
the basis of belief, religion, language, and even festivals. Different nations with
various cultures have many festivals such as Christmas, Thanksgiving day,
Easter, and other similar special celebrations. Vietnam, especially, has a
traditional occasion which is really meaningful for people called Tet. This is the
most special holiday for Vietnamese people since it represents a new beginning
filled with luck, happiness, and prosperity.
