Content - DELMIA - Factory Flow Simulation Essentials

1. The document discusses DELMIA Factory flow simulation Essentials software which allows users to generate production systems from process planning, define and optimize materials flow and production requirements, analyze production systems through simulation, and identify problem areas. 2. It describes two types of flows - factory flows which allow products to flow through multiple resources, and product flows which link two resources to move products between them. Various activities are defined like create, buffer, transfer, transform, and dispatch. 3. The software allows configuration of activities, resources, and factory flows to model production systems. Tools like the resource configuration table, Gantt chart, activity sets, and defining resource working cycles can be used.

DELMIA Factory flow simulation Essentials

Release 2018x

Creating a factory flow

We can do:

1. Generate a production system from process planning.

2. Define, validate, optimize your materials flow and production
requirements.
3. Analyze a production system and validate product design, process
and layout changes by simulation.
4. Identify trouble area, edit a production system.

About flow
We can create links between resources, which allow one or
more resources to handle a product.

Type of flows:

a) Factory flow:
It is a series of product flows and activities, that
allows one or more products to flow through
several resources.
The factory flow starts with an IN ZONE
associated with a create activity and ends with an
OUT ZONE associated with a dispatch activity.

b) Product flow:
It creates a link between two resources, allowing
one or more products to move from one
resource to another. It is symbolized by a
chevron line with a product zone located at each
extremity.
About activities
Allow you to specify the action of a resources or a zone. You can create a factory flow on resources on IN and OUT
zones and create a factory flow for several resources.

Defining a create activity.

Defining a buffer activity.

Defining a transfer activity.

Creating a transform activity.
Creating a dispatch activity

Defining initial state for an activity

Using resource configuration table.
Using Gantt Chart
Defining activity set
Defining resource working cycle
